Not that there will ever be any revolution in the west, the working class is to divided, stupid and comportable with capitalism as it is. They don´t want change as long as they can stuff thier mouths with McDonalds, drive their SUVs and watch the mindnumbingly stupid excuse for tv-programs. Oh, and drink themselves to oblivion every other friday of course. **** that! ...or rather I don´t care anymore. Let the whole ****ing world burn, I´m doing what I think is right and I´m not concerned about anyone else but myself and my family and friends. I´m tired of preaching to people, trying to convince them what´s right. Tired of giving and giving and giving to a cause that no one cares about, the working class wouldn´t piss on us, even if we were on fire... If they are stupid enough to ignore the warnings, it´s not my problem. We´re all gonna die anyway, sooner or later.

Uh, yeah, sounds like you're quite the employment catch.

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

Obviously. But have you thought about the possibility that your overall view towards society might be translating itself into subconscious actions/behaviors that might be sabotaging your job-search/interviewing efforts?

I mean, here's the thing: it's hard to do something if you don't believe in it to some extent. If you don't believe in "the capitalist system" (whatever the hell that means), then it's going to be hard to join and enter the "capitalist system" because any efforts you make will be half-hearted or desultory.

I´m well aware that I will have to work in the "capitalist system" I´ve accepted that, there´s not like I can escape it. It IS a reality. But there might be something subconsciuos at work, who knows?

Of course there's no guarantee, but you are taking the "one day at a time" thing way to literally. You have to make some investments and take some risks in life.

Ignorance, ignorance, ignorance. I am as left winged as Kamrat, perhaps even more so, but it doesn't render me incapable of working. On the contrary, it makes me rather diligent and committed due to my ethics about doing the right thing...

Put an end to popups!

I wonder if being unemployed by choice is different than being unemployed because no one will hire you. If I were rich being unemployed wouldn't be quite so bad, but eventually I would want to work I guess.

When it comes to doing your job I think it only hurts a communist if they went into the business (Accounting /Finance /Marketing) side of business. If they're a lab tech or a production guy, I really don't think it matters.

Of course viewing society in general in a negative light, could harm you from fully reentering society.

Every job I've had I've believed in when I started, it didn't always last.

That's patently false. I held two different jobs in the financial sector, and I was very cynical about what I was doing (money and working conditions were good though). However, I did my job cautiously, and I think my employers have been glad of my service. In my first job (which was entirely uninteresting), my dedication waned over time, despite me accepting more the usefulness of what I was doing.

BTW, I also had an internship I was extremely enthusiastic about (working for a Commie MP), and my dedication to the job was only slightly superior to what I did in financial companies.

When I was temping in a finances office, I found it so dull that my motivation waned to the point where I was doing about 2 hours work in an 8 hour day. Then I got a bit of a ticking off for being a lazy bum, so I found a new belief. Rather than motviation based on the worthwhility of the capitalist system, my motivation was stemming entirely from a bubbling resentment towards my boss. I decided to do so much work in a day that they'd get annoyed with me constantly asking for more tasks to do.

I've actually thought about this if I won the lottery big-- say 10 million dollars. Thats enough that I don't need to work ever again but I still would-- just part time and with long vacations-- I would also go back to college . . not to necessarily get another degree but to learn things that interest me

Mrs. Tub: Look into performing clinical studies, they pay well

Not sure how steady of a job it is.

Sometimes to avoid unemployment you might have to move. Oh the dreaded M word!

I gots a job interview in Denver, CO, friday, 8am... That's pretty much why I haven't been posting much, gotta figure out how to get there. Going to visit my sis and her new kid as well as my cousins why I am there.

Guess it's easier for me to suggest moving to get a job since I want to move. I haven't applied to a single job in my area.

On top of it, I found out on Monday that my division might be downsizing, I'm listening to the Director call up some connects of his trying to get some of his employees jobs before he tells them their history.

I guess it's a good thing I was already looking for a change of scenery.

To everyone looking; gl
