Beta says:

Paddy says:

Paddy says:
the source contacted our ambassador via email
Paddy says:
who emailed me
Paddy says:
and when I read it I asked you, well I did not ask, I accussed
Paddy says:
opps
Beta says:
and the source - can you reveal it?
Paddy says:
oh really
Paddy says:
fk him
Beta says:
It may be helpful to figure out the political dynamics.
Beta says:
???
Paddy says:
the source
Beta says:
Are you saying the source was screwing with you?
Paddy says:
well if it is a lie
Paddy says:
must be if you telling the truth
Beta says:
Was in Nuke??? Hahahaha
Paddy says:
and I belive you
Beta says:
Thanks. Was it Nuke?
Paddy says:
not Nuke, my people are not to pay attention to 12 year olds
child games etc not our game
Beta says:
hehe
Paddy says:
personally wish he would dissapear
Beta says:
Hmm - now you have me thinking. Aqua?
Paddy says:
I am not saying
Beta says:
Hye - guess what just came up on the cd we are listening to?
Paddy says:
??? must kill aqua....
Paddy says:
Paddy says:
?
Beta says:
Nope - folk classics from the 60's. Gues sagin. It is relevant.
Paddy says:
eve of destruction
Beta says:
Paddy says:
hehe
Beta says:
yep
Paddy says:
good song
Beta says:
You don't belive we'r on the eve of destruiction...
Beta says:
Very good, and very appropriate for the game.
Paddy says:
well much response to our chat earlier
many of the Horde consider that your people are double dealing us on techs - I understand you position and all that on what happened with the techs
Paddy says:
also many are saddened / angry of what was said regarding A-M
Beta says:
How are we double dealing???
Paddy says:
asking where are your troops. etc
Paddy says:
double dealing - you are two techs up
Beta says:
How so?
Paddy says:
we got poly.... no maths, nothing for philo
Beta says:
We did not trade you for philo.
Paddy says:
no, yet snoop gave to you
Paddy says:
not his to give
Beta says:
Was not asked for nor expected.
Beta says:
And buggered up another deal.
Paddy says:
as I said I understand
Paddy says:
Horde most pissed off though
Paddy says:
15 members
Beta says:
Beta says:
Essentially we trade Poly and 30 gold for IW and maps - a good deal for us.
Beta says:
And then we trade Poly for HBR - less than good.
Beta says:
And we are still expected to come up with Maths.
Beta says:
Let me tell you what it looks like from our end.
Beta says:
You have to understand - you and Bards are two civs - not one. Look at the trades that way.
Paddy says:
listening
Paddy says:
I am not that interested in the techs
Beta says:
The A-M thing?
Paddy says:
I am happy for you that you have philo
Beta says:
which we were going to get anyway.
Paddy says:
I will listen
Beta says:
So what are you interested in ?? The A-M thing?
Beta says:
Our position is clear?
Beta says:
uh oh. Wh is that. Looks like the sandmam cometh...
Beta says:
sandman...that is.
Paddy says:
sorry - phone rang (do they not know of international relations )
Beta says:
hehe
Beta says:
Going to bed now.
Beta says:
See you tomorrow.
Paddy says:
wait on
Paddy says:
ok bye then
Beta says:
Was there something?
Paddy says:
You say your position is clear
no it is not
Paddy says:
you have offered no troops nothing
jack squid
Paddy says:
You make demands then go to bed
Paddy says:
hehe
Paddy says:
ya mad I tell ya
Paddy says:
I see no position at all in what I have read, just that you want our gains
Beta says:
To be specific - we are not pleased that a member of the alliance agreed to be a member of has proposed a boder agreement clearly in their own self-ineterst and with no regards to other members of the alliance.
Paddy says:
where are your troops
Beta says:
(add 'that we")
Paddy says:
can you really handle two wars, when you tell us you can not handle one
Paddy says:
....
Paddy says:
2 wars
Paddy says:
full commitment
Paddy says:
15 troops needed now then
Paddy says:
match me unit for unit3
Paddy says:
come on
Beta says:
We have archers - that will trigger our GA. You well know that. We need to raise horsemen.
Paddy says:
ok, I will be nice , only 10
Paddy says:
well we are at war now
Paddy says:
and you want our gains for free
Beta says:
Not our choosing. Yours.
Paddy says:
why?
Paddy says:
yes our war not yours
Paddy says:
point proven
Beta says:
Clearly.
Paddy says:
so why should you gain that land
Paddy says:
?
Paddy says:
you told us you did not want alliance once DR removed
Beta says:
When you say our war, not yours, you speak volumes.
Paddy says:
we understand you
Beta says:
Gonna crash now.
Paddy says:
Beta says:
Good night.
Paddy says:
good night matey
Paddy says:
sleep well

Beta says:
Greetings!
Paddy says:
hello
Beta says:
Greetings Paddy. Evening here. I am enjoying a lovely bottle of Black Opal , Cabernet Merlot.
Paddy says:
yummmmmm
Beta says:
My first bottle of Black Opal and I am impressed.
Paddy says:
I hit the merlot pretty hard this past 4 days
Paddy says:
a great drop at almost anytime of year
Beta says:
The salmon and crab is on the barbie. Rice is done. Will do the asparagus when teh salmon is set.
Paddy says:
ok, you win
Paddy says:
yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Paddy says:
"Scottie, beam One to Betas"
Beta says:
hehehe.
Paddy says:
wondering 2 things:
1. Monarchy - how many more turns?
we have lit for you, and also have code of laws
2. The DR war, we look forward to marching and crushing Aqua. How goes your prep?
we have some units hungry for battle, and await word - timeframe etc
Beta says:
1. 9 turns??? IIRC.
Beta says:
2, Horsemen being produced.
Paddy says:
good
Beta says:
I think we have 4 or 5 so far.
Paddy says:
horsemen perfect units for that war
excellent
Beta says:
How goes things with AM
Paddy says:
at this time Bards and Horde are strong against DR
Beta says:
Any sign of immortals?
Paddy says:
we have laid off A-M a bit so as to focus heavily on DR, as per both yours and Bards suggestions at the summitt
Paddy says:
no sign of immortals at our end
Beta says:
ah - OK. I see they are still alive.
Paddy says:
yes, they be fiesty warriors
Paddy says:
and we agreed that DR was the priority
Beta says:
btw - Lost Boys have expnaded their territory so we can no longer go cross country that way.
Paddy says:
oh
Paddy says:
c3cdg save inbound
Beta says:
Actually - Monarchy in 5.
Paddy says:
hello
Paddy says:
in 5 awesome
Paddy says:
there is a DR warrior to the north of your warrior Joe, can you please tail him into the boonies, we would like to smite him. your intel on his movements would allow us to step out and get him good.
Paddy says:
DR Intel:
looks like only Aqua is contributing, with Masuro posting occasionally, most others awol
DR not happy with Immortals, too slow for the distances required to travel
Immortals 4/2/1
Swordsmen 3/2/1
they feel the effort not quite worth it
they are working hard for more horsemen, and to get to knights asap
for knights they have horses and iron connected already, they just need chivalry
Horde Red Guard Operations (the Red Guard is our Army) feel that a priority is to cut the horses
we feel that they will be over protective of their iron, as the horse resource is to their south east
A possible solution to this would be a joint attack of Babylonian and Horde Horsemen on the DR Horse resource
In this we would sweep in from the southern center of the map with the Bards are coming at them from the north
As the Three Nation Alliance we do not have to individually be overwhelming of DR,
by stand together DR can not last
thus we get to finalize the Voting of them off the island
"Desolation Row - You're Fired"
Beta says:
yup - just finishing and postin the turn - after waaay too much wine.
Paddy says:
hehe
this alliance is going to Freak Aqua
he is quite sure he has a winning position
feels the Bards are ready to crumble, and will be easy to assimilate
and now he is playing it mainly by himself - well no one to keep his ego in check
Beta says:
Sounds good.
Paddy says:
good
Beta says:
He and the Lost Boys seem reasonably close.
Paddy says:
yes
Beta says:
1889 is alos plaing it mostly by himself.
Paddy says:
two single players
Beta says:
And it has been difficult to get close to LB.
Paddy says:
I have sent some units to scout the lands around the centre of the map
so should have some fresh intel for you on that
Beta says:
For Babylon that is.
Paddy says:
ok
Paddy says:
1889 has posted that he wants to get into some role play, so in that we sent Ambassador Plato as a special envoy to "role play"
it has been a slow process
Beta says:
btw - your border propsal did not go over too well - but that does not seem to be an ise right now.
hehe
Beta says:
We cab roleplay if he wants to. D
Paddy says:
yeah the border proposal is not a live issue
Paddy says:
hehe
Beta says:
OK - so we should touch bases again shortly..
Paddy says:
that would be great
Paddy says:
Your horsemen will be a welcome relief
Beta says:
Ok - gotta go.
Paddy says:
our combined forces will be devestating
Beta says:
Take care Paddy. All the best to you and yours.
Paddy says:
thanks mate
and to you
Paddy says:
drop me a line when you would like to chat
Beta says:
k
Paddy says:
have several other minor issues on this game would like to chat about

Lord Beta,
Thank you for answering my request for a chat. I understand that you are not
able to meet with me at this very hour, and in response to your request of
my times, please know that I will be available at various hours throughout
the coming 9 hours. It is GMT 1820 now, and thus I am available till approx
GMT 0320. Throughout this period I have a few errands to run, but no set
appointments, so I will check in and out, hoping to catch you. Please do not
hesitate to leave a set time that would be suitable for you.
In preparation of this chat I have prepared a few notes / agenda items.
1. My Apologises.
1.1 I was wrong in my understanding of the situation between our Nations
1.2 (A short speech)
"In the past weeks the Bards, especially Snoopy and McMeadows, have taken me
to task over my arrogance and the thoughts that I have for you and your
people. My belief was that your nation only wanted an alliance with us until
the Desolators were removed / voted off the island - survivor style. Yet as
I have gone over my notes of our chats, to get those statements, I find no
such details... I am wrong! You have been a shrewd and diplomatic
negotiator, yet I see nowhere the words as I believed them."
"I ask your forgiveness, and humbly apologise to you and your people."
"Arrogance can have a definite place, there certainly can be a strength in
it. Yet my arrogance has not been a strength, it has inturn led to a lacking
in communications and growth in our mighty Three Nation Alliance. I fully
thank the Bards, especially McMeadows for continually putting forth a case
for you and your people, (especially again this night) a case that made me
have to read over nearly every post that has been made about the alliance,
the proposed war etc, and thus to discover my error."
2. The War on DR.
2.1 Babylonian availability
2.2 Horde availability
2.3 Bard availability
2.4 Desolator Intel
2.5 Status of Desolators against members of Three Nation Alliance
2.6 Once hostilities begin, will Babylon then openly declare your hands
2.6.1 Your openness would be a dual edged sword, it could at last force the
Lost Boys to stand for one side or the other.
2.6.2 The benefits of knowing where the Lost Boy himself stands
3. Horde commitment to the Three Nation Alliance
3.1 Horde troops being diverted to / from the Porker war, that should be
available for the DR war.
3.2 Horde getting with the program
4. The Border agreement
4.1 Both Nations have put forth several versions, and it all relied on the
Porkers being removed. this has not happened...
4.2 This is a subject that we may be able to visit once the DR issue has
been sorted.
5. The Geo-Political Stage
5.1 Where do you see Babylon on the Geo-Political Stage
5.2 Where I see Babylon on the Geo-Political Stage
5.3 Where do you see Horde on the Geo-Political Stage
5.4 Where I see Horde on the Geo-Political Stage
5.5 Where do you see Bards on the Geo-Political Stage
5.6 Where I see Bards on the Geo-Political Stage
5.7 Where do you see Porkers on the Geo-Political Stage
5.8 Where I see Porkers on the Geo-Political Stage
5.9 Where do you see Lost Boys on the Geo-Political Stage
5.10 Where I see Lost Boys on the Geo-Political Stage
5.11 Where do you see Desolators on the Geo-Political Stage
5.12 Where I see Desolators on the Geo-Political Stage
6. Technologies
6.1 Babylonian research of Monarchy
6.1.2 The Horde have it that Babylon will complete this tech in approx 3 - 4
turns, as per correspondence in the last 14 days
6.1.3 The Horde still has Literature on the table, as agreed, along side of
Map Making, which you received as part of the "Three Nation Summit
Technological Trade Agreement"
6.1.3.1 Map Making was to be traded for Mathematics, which unfortunately
Babylon were not able to secure Math from the Desolators, thus leaving this
agreed to Technological Credit
6.1.4 Only the Bards and the Horde have Literature at this time
6.2 Code of Laws
6.3 Getting all of the Three Nations of the Alliance up to speed with
technologies
7. Resources
7.1 A road between our Nations
7.1.1 Connecting all Three Nations of the Alliance
7.1.2 Allowing the trade of resources
7.1.3 A definite positive for both nation
7.1.4 Allowing the flow of troops to a certain extent, good for allies to
have
7.2 Or should we look at harbours when available?
7.3 Dyes, a good trade
I understand that we may not get anywhere near talking of these points, yet
I feel you should be aware of my thinking in these matters.
May the wind cool your hair and fill your sails on a calm day.

Beta says:
Greetings frrom Babylon.
Paddy says:
Greetings
Beta says:
And a statement from Babylon...
We have had considerable discussion over diplomatic affairs lately.
As you have correctly surmised, the last discussion, and the proposed border agreement did not go down well.
However, the initial premise of the alliance was sound, and your backing of the AM war for now also helped.
We just completed our first major poll on diplomatic direction.
Paddy says:
ok
how did that go?
Beta says:
And it was overwhleming in favour of continuing and strengthening the BOH-Euphorica aliiance.
Paddy says:
That is very good to hear, very good indeed
Beta says:
DR has been courting us heavily, just so you know.
Paddy says:
hehe
Beta says:
We have been very cool to their communications, and that is something we should discuss is to how we may work that to our advantage.
Paddy says:
us as well
hehe
indeed
Beta says:
We are near to completing Monarchy - and that is something else we should discuss.
Paddy says:
Aqua stands on the edge of our lands and looks over our Nations as targets for future Glory
yes please - Monarchy
shall we work through the agenda I sent
Beta says:
Also - we have some horsemen now, and more in the near future, so military planning needs to be discussed.
Paddy says:
excellent
Beta says:
Sounds good.
Paddy says:
1.
Beta says:
I think we can move right to Agenda item 2. Your pstatement was well received in the Babylonian Senate.
Paddy says:
thank you
Beta says:
And thank you.
Paddy says:
2.
Beta says:
I have the agenda up in another window.
yes - LB - quite an enigma.
Paddy says:
2.1
Paddy says:
so you have more troops avail?
Beta says:
OK - we have some horsemen now (read - more than 3) with more on the way.
We also have bowmen - lots - but there slower movement is an issue.
Paddy says:
Horse will be so important
Beta says:
Also - we would like to delay our GA as long as possible.
Paddy says:
Red Guard Operations (RGO) would like to see your horse gather and start moving soon
your initial 3 - 4 horse would make a great battle patrol for picking off stray DR troops over on the war front
Beta says:
Understood. We can do this.
Paddy says:
thus not setting off you GA, by keeping your bowmen at home
thus a 2nd Babylonian Battle Patrol could be what swings the final outcome
Beta says:
Understood.
Paddy says:
Aqua and his team are active, Trip and others have their names in that team
they all have mighty and fearsome egos and reputaions
Paddy says:
2.2
Beta says:
A great combination.
I see you have swords - with fierce names.
Paddy says:
hehe
Our Swords Units are a precious component of the Horde Red Guard (Army)
Beta says:
So I presume you are ready to go now..
Paddy says:
we are manourving indeed
Beta says:
Ok - and 2.3 Bards?
Paddy says:
Bards, the Bards are again on the war path
Paddy says:
and sadly again almost by them selves
Beta says:
In strength?
Paddy says:
yes
Beta says:
OK
which brings us to 2.4 - where is DR?
Immortals??
Paddy says:
yet in this last turn there has been a change in the DR strength, DR have gone from Weak against Horde and Bards, to now being Average against Horde and Bards
RGO feel that this has to do with a sudden mass upgrade
DR are opposite you
Beta says:
Hmmm....
Paddy says:
straight across
Beta says:
Yes - understood.
Paddy says:
You have a small set of Vampires inbetween
Beta says:
But LB is now in the way.
hehe
Paddy says:
they are not the effectual
Beta says:
Are DR still in despotism - I assume as such,
Paddy says:
and there is plenty of room for your forces to move through without crossing LB lands
Beta says:
Agreed. Horseman Sheridan is up in that neck of the woods.
Paddy says:
ahhh good
I will organize a new set of maps and get them off in a diplomatic pouch in the coming days
Beta says:
Thank you.
So - DR still in despotism?
Paddy says:
I believe they are
Beta says:
Beauty.
Paddy says:
I have no intel to show otherwise
Beta says:
Ok- 2.6..
How do we want to handle it?
Personally,, I like the element of surprise.
Paddy says:
indeed
Beta says:
No need for DR to know that Babylon is also coming.
Paddy says:
hehe
Beta says:
As to the Lost Boys??? Who knows.
Paddy says:
would do them a nice surprise to suddenly be facing one of your battle patrols
Beta says:
I honestly think it is a case of 1889 simply playing it like a SP game - as he has few other active team members.
Agreed.
Paddy says:
I corresponded at length via email with 1889 of the LB's last night
Beta says:
However, 1889 is no slouch at civ, and should not be uner0rated.
Paddy says:
he wants no war with Aqua, but feels he may possibly be swayed
Beta says:
under-rated
Paddy says:
hehe
indeed
Beta says:
Will he stay neutral?
Paddy says:
that I do not really know
I see him playing all his cards on several levels
an element we all need to watch
Beta says:
Yes - I watched him in icr1, when he faced ana attack by Russia (jshelr) and Bablyon(mfc??) and he held them off.
Paddy says:
yes indeed
Beta says:
I figured he was a goner.
Paddy says:
I have found him very resilient to such matters as well
Beta says:
He is building well too.
Paddy says:
and having the team to himself allows him a lot of freedom
indeed, splitting the map
Beta says:
hehe - indeed.
So - unless he gangs up with AM to attack us - and that is very highly unlikely - I think we will be OK.
Paddy says:
ok, 3.?
Beta says:
But we will keep an eye open.
Paddy says:
indeed
Beta says:
yes, 3.
Enough said IMO.
Paddy says:
Please know that the Horde is fully commited to the Three Nation Alliance (TNA)
Beta says:
and nods,
Paddy says:
We, the Horde, are serious to get this show on the road
TNA is a great device to see all parties suceed and develop in all the right directions
do you have any questions for me on 3.?
Beta says:
No, sounds good. My concern was always for the longer-term and bigger picture.
But you have settled any fears babylonians may have,
Paddy says:
ok. thank you for your understanding in this.
4.
I see this as no longer an issue
Beta says:
I agree with your position. It was quite an issue within Babylon.
Now - behind us.
Paddy says:
thank you
Beta says:
Down the road - we will be more than willing to deal with the AM issue together.
Which sort of answers 5.7
Paddy says:
a discussion for another day
Beta says:
Agreed.
Paddy says:
hehe
5.
5.1
Beta says:
Best team in the game.
Paddy says:
hehehe
well said
Paddy says:
5.4
We be Horde
Beta says:
More seriously, we are struggling with our initial intent of peace and prosperity - and the reality of a smalll world with 6 civs.
We will play a balanced approach. And we like the TNA.
Paddy says:
The Horde has a great many contributors and look upon the world as a mettling pot for sharing and developing these ideas into a great and wonderful future for all the peoples.
Growth and Happiness
Peace and Prosperity
yet so too we see that the warmongers are alive and have gathered to seek out death and destruction
We too see the TNA as a good device for the Growth and Development of a Happy and Peaceful world.
In this we will utilize the resources that we have available.
Beta says:
Agreed.
No problem. May I suggets we move along to 6. I am completely bagged.
hehe
Paddy says:
indeed
Beta says:
Yes - when last I glanced - Monarchy in 3-4, maybe 5. I can chcek and confirm.
Paddy says:
either is good
Beta says:
checking ....
Paddy says:
ok, thank you
Beta says:
4
Paddy says:
tx
Beta says:
From what I can tell from the turn threads and without restarting civ.
Paddy says:
The Horde Auditor General has been singing songs of this technology over his beer jug for weeks
Beta says:
hehe
LB has been flogging CoL with us for a while now.
Paddy says:
Seems each time I wander the streets of Khans Blood Hall, our capital, I have him asking me when will we be recieving it.
Beta says:
Where do we stand on contsruction and currency?
hehe - bureaucrats!
Paddy says:
I feel that these techs are 15 - 20 turns away
hehe
Beta says:
Are they underway?
Paddy says:
although DR has currency
yes they are
Beta says:
What say ye of trading LB Monarchy for currency.
Paddy says:
hmmmm
do you see Monarchy helping DR?
Beta says:
My only concern is that 1889 may trade it to DR.
Paddy says:
I feel at this time LB and DR are just swapping everything
indeed
Beta says:
Yes - agreed.
And AM?
Paddy says:
they have issues
Beta says:
Just trying to survive??
Paddy says:
they are growing, and have a strong pressence
Beta says:
Later.
Paddy says:
yes indeed
Paddy says:
can I come back to you on the LB Currency issue
Beta says:
yep - it all depends on what we feel is best for the alliance. We make the call together.
Paddy says:
I would like to get more input from Hordeland Control, Auditor Generals Department, and the Blood Cell, our Foreign Affairs department
Beta says:
Man - I can imgaine all the memos.
And committees.
And sub-committees.
Paddy says:
We be Horde, we have a central meeting hall, The Wild Boar, which is basically our pub. Many meetings are held there, and many a Council member can be found there wrapped in rugs sleeping off the effects of the brews of truth
Beta says:
Ahhhh - a committee.
Paddy says:
indeed
Beta says:
Ok - what are the Bards bringing to the tech table?
Paddy says:
and the barmaids know how to look after us well
Beta says:
hehe
Paddy says:
Construction
Beta says:
Wonderful.
Paddy says:
indeed
Paddy says:
They are working hard on so so many fronts
Beta says:
Ok - and the road between us - item 7.1 (sorry Paddy - I'm almost asleep here mate.)
Paddy says:
TNA really rocks this world
what are your feelings on such a road
not necessary for this moment
Beta says:
11;19pm here. And work tomorrow.
Paddy says:
indeed, I appreciate your patience as I rattle along
Beta says:
The idea sounds good. Both for trade - and to get horsemen places quickly.
I will need to discuss with Klo, jon, et al, to see what they say.
Paddy says:
indeed
Beta says:
Big investment at this stage of the game.
Paddy says:
yes a massive investment
something we can both look at for the future
Beta says:
agreed.
OK - how do we/you communicate this to Bards?
Paddy says:
I discussed with Mac yesturday the need for another TNA Summit
that way you can be brought on line with all the current DR War plans
matters that are mainly Bard Troop issues, thus the reason I am not going into them too deeply here
Bards operational security is very important to me
Beta says:
Understood. Sounds good.
Paddy says:
Please understand I trust you, I just feel they should be the ones to tell is all
thanks
Beta says:
Ok - if you can send me the transcript... it would be appreciated.
I will confirm the timing on Monarchy.
Paddy says:
so with your permission I will circulate a request for the TNA to meet for another summit on MSN Messenger
along the same lines as before
Beta says:
Yep.
Paddy says:
Transcript about two hours out
Paddy says:
Do you have any further questions for me?
Beta says:
And I will get the First Babylonaina Cavalry Corps on the move.
Beta says:
Nope - sounds good Paddy.
Paddy says:
First Babylonaina Cavalry Corps - awesome
First Babylonaina Cavalry Corps, definitly a war breaker
TNA rox
Beta says:
hehe
Ok - thanks for the chat Paddy.
This was good.
Paddy says:
I look forward to some further details on their movements etc
and will send some maps this day as well
Beta says:
Sounds good. Good night my friend.
Paddy says:
Yes thank you, and please send my thanks to your ever patient people.
Paddy says:
Good night matey
Beta says:
And ditto to yours. Part hard!
Paddy says:
indeed
Beta says:
Party hard!
Paddy says:
bye

Greetings Lords of Babylon
It is my hope that this finds you well and enjoying the rapid turn rate of this amazing game.
Since our chat on June 6, game year 1625bc, we have moved on 4 turns, 100 years, much is happening. It is my understanding that the game will move at least another full turn in the coming 24 hours, bring us to 1500bc.
This email is for three items: 1. Babylonian battle Patrols; 2. Techonlogial Trades; 3. Technological Trade.
------------------------------------------------------
Point 1.
I had hoped to have had a reply on the whereabouts of your "1st Babylonian Battle Patrol", along with their estimated time of arrival at Plot Point Centre, as marked on the attached map. So far we have only seen two single units: Sheridan (horseman 4/4) and Sheridan (horseman 4/4), some 7 tiles apart.
Anyway I thought maybe I was making to much of the matter, so I checked as per our chat on June 6, game year 1625bc, as the following extract is from, and thus would like to know where we are upto at this time, if that is alright.
------------------------------------------------------
2. The War on DR.
2.1 Babylonian availability
2.1
Paddy says:
so you have more troops avail?
------------------------------------------------------
Point 2.
At this time the Bards and the Horde are openly at war with the Desolators.
Both nations have committed troops and the war progresses.
A lot of time is being spent on manoeuvring and counter manoeuvring.
The battle reports will be long and very grusome when the opposing forces finally do meet.
------------------------------------------------------
Point 3.
Ok, so technology, as per the following details from our last chat, the Horde looks forward to the finalization of the trade of Map Making and Literature for Monarchy this coming turn.
I can confirm that currency will be available before the 15 turns as discussed below, possibly 9 - 11. This all depends on the war and unit production, as I am sure you would understand.
------------------------------------------------------
6.1.4 Only the Bards and the Horde have Literature at this time
Beta says:
Agreed.
No problem. May I suggets we move along to 6. I am completely bagged.
hehe
Paddy says:
indeed
Beta says:
Yes - when last I glanced - Monarchy in 3-4, maybe 5. I can chcek and confirm.
Paddy says:
either is good
Beta says:
checking ....
Paddy says:
ok, thank you
Beta says:
4
Paddy says:
tx
Beta says:
From what I can tell from the turn threads and without restarting civ.
Paddy says:
The Horde Auditor General has been singing songs of this technology over his beer jug for weeks
Beta says:
hehe
LB has been flogging CoL with us for a while now.
Paddy says:
Seems each time I wander the streets of Khans Blood Hall, our capital, I have him asking me when will we be recieving it.
Beta says:
Where do we stand on contsruction and currency?
hehe - bureaucrats!
Paddy says:
I feel that these techs are 15 - 20 turns away
hehe
Beta says:
Are they underway?
Paddy says:
although DR has currency
yes they are
Beta says:
What say ye of trading LB Monarchy for currency.
Paddy says:
hmmmm
do you see Monarchy helping DR?
Beta says:
My only concern is that 1889 may trade it to DR.
Paddy says:
I feel at this time LB and DR are just swapping everything
indeed
Beta says:
Yes - agreed.
And AM?
Paddy says:
they have issues
Beta says:
Just trying to survive??
Paddy says:
they are growing, and have a strong pressence
Beta says:
Later.
Paddy says:
yes indeed
Paddy says:
can I come back to you on the LB Currency issue
Beta says:
yep - it all depends on what we feel is best for the alliance. We make the call together.
Paddy says:
I would like to get more input from Hordeland Control, Auditor Generals Department, and the Blood Cell, our Foreign Affairs department
Beta says:
Man - I can imgaine all the memos.
And committees.
And sub-committees.
Paddy says:
We be Horde, we have a central meeting hall, The Wild Boar, which is basically our pub. Many meetings are held there, and many a Council member can be found there wrapped in rugs sleeping off the effects of the brews of truth
Beta says:
Ahhhh - a committee.
Paddy says:
indeed
------------------------------------------------------
The Horde is ever happy that we have a strong alliance and that the future looks so good.
I had hoped that some of you would have attended the recent celebrations we held for the completion of the first wonder of the game, sad none of you could turn up. The parties went for quite some time, and the hangover lasted almost as long - haha.
Hoping your great Nation is growing well and your people are prospering. Looking forward to your response,
May the wind fill you sails on a calm day.

Dear Great and Bloody Khan of the Horde.
My humble apologies for our silence. Prayer and study. Prayer and study. It is the Babylonian way.
I am pleased to say that Monarchy is completed. We can complete a tech deal shortly. We do ask that you not trade it on to other civs. It has been quite an investment in research and we would like to get caught up in tech.
Also - you had provided a rendevous point for the 1st Babylonian Cavalry Corps. Our horse are ariving singly, and in fact Sheridan is now 9-9-9-9 of the identified site next to the volcanoes. Sinclair is 3 tiles from that point, and Ivanova three tiles behind. Other units are produced next turn and talke the field. One horse is remaining behind to scout the western front.
So, in terms of military action, we will take our cue from you or Euphoriscan. Please advise.
In terms of tech dealing, we may want to time a trade of Monarchy to DR. If it is done, we should do it, as it would be an obvious trade if we are taking them up on their offer of co-operation. The trick is, we monitor the f3 screen, and when they fall into anarchy - we attack. They are not religious, so we have 3-6 turns with no production. If we foresee a quick and decisive strike by our three civs, this may work to our advantage. Please give the idea some thought, and feel free to discuss it with Bards. I am cc'ing McMeadows, so he will be aware of our conversation and the status of tech and military matters.
Regards from Babylon, and may the good will of Inanna bless your Great Blood Hall and all those that abide there.

Lord Beta of Babylon,
Thanks mate, Thank you greatly
I will take this before the Horde Council this hour.
May your people continue in their study and prayer. This is obviously a great blessing to you and the fellow Lords of Babylon.
Please know that the Horde understands your desires with the technological issues completely. I like your plans on trading it with the Desolators, a very interetsing concept indeed.
I will be in touch regarding troop movement shortly. The war is underway, that is for sure.
Take care, blessings and peace to you and your magnificent people,
Paddy of the Horde

Greetings Great Lords of Babylon
I am sorry to not hear any word from you these past days... wow almost weeks.
The Blood Oath Horde are glad that we are allies and that we near the day when the Three Nation Alliance will deal the blows that caste Desolation Row off the island. Lord Beta, your initial words so long ago, along the lines of "this be the day that Desolation Row gets Voted off the Island - Survivor Style" are finally close to fruition.
My Commanders of the Red Guard General Staff, and the people of Red Guard Operations have looked to this time for a while now. All the manoeuvring, all the hassles with a certain other nation, yeah the Porkers, that have been put aside for another day, and here we are, all within a few short turns of some great victories. Joy and celebrations will certainly belong to the TNA when this is all completed.
I must admit that as hard as it was to extradite ourselves from the Porker war, in the long run, your words certainly have had greater wisdom. We have thus been able to concentrate greater forces and thus with all Three Nations we will have a greater victory against Desolation Row.
In other matters, I am happy to announce that we will have currency completed this next turn, and in the spirit of cooperation, we will be sending this along accepted. It is our hope that your fine people will be able to put this to use straight away, thus building your Nation to the Glory that is only becoming.
My Generals would like to coordinate with yours on the attacks, in this I have asked that Ambassador Plato be in contact with you. He will be your liaison with our Red Guard Operations people. At some stage hopefully we could get a chat between your Military Leaders and ours. Yet I understand you all must be very busy, as we have not even had another TNA Summit, nor even an email back to the few I scoot over from time to time.
Hope all is well and that Babylon grows strong and happy
Paddy of the Horde
--------------------------------------------------------
Greta Khan Leader Paddy.
Greetings my friend. Thank you for your note. I apologize for my absence, and the lack of communication. It is only indicative of my busy schedule and nothing else.
However, as our horsemen travel the plains to join the great crusade, an issue has come up. We have noted your recent alliance with the Anhk-Morporkians, which surprsingly includes a ROP agreement. Can you please advise as to what is up with the Porkers, and your relationship with them. I'm sure you can appreciate our reasons for asking. Many thanks.
We await notice from Plato as to a meeting of the generals.
Yours truly...
Beta of Babylon
--------------------------------------------------------
Hello Lord Beta
Ahhh so are you the only person in all of Babylonia that has communications then?
An issue - the RoP agreement with A-M, not quite sure how this is an issue to you or your people. Happy to bring you up to speed. You and The Bards made many statements about the Horde being not commited to the war with Desolation Row, that the Horde were over committed, ok these may not be your exact words - happy to re-read all previous correspondence for your exact statements if you require it. So the Horde took the advice and secured peace with A-M so that the Three Nation Alliance could move on and secure the objective of Desolation Row.
Peace was made with A-M to keep you, Babylon, and the Bards happy at that time. At the beginning many of the Horde were not entirely convinced to this matter, yet when weighed up on the fact that DR would be removed, peace was sort with A-M. Only later did more of the Horde become converts, especially as the Bards Stack of Doom and the Horde Army Group East were tying up massive numbers of Desolation Row troops, and we could see Units of the Babylonian Horse moving to the war. Knowing that the guts of DR land had to be open for your forces.
You say I can appreciate your reasons for asking about the peace with A-M, actually no, I do not, at best you confuse me. How is it that a peace you asked for so so long ago, is now suddenly such an issue? This peace is certainly no new thing. Have you only just discovered it? Truely I find that hard to believe.
So what are you saying here Lord Beta? What underlies this message, that you are not going to attack DR? You were an major part of this entire matter.
What are you doing Babylon? You are a member of an alliance, the Three Nation Alliance. Stand straight, and join in the war you helped to start.
My people embrace your people in peace and happiness, we enjoy the fact you are there and we hope that you are growing prosperous. All the more reason to be sending you the technology of Currency accepted asap.
Interesting, actually you do not even mention Currency...! Why not? Should I question everything you do and do not say? Not a good alliance at all if that be the case.
On behalf of the Red Guard Operations (RGO), we would be interested in know where your "1st Babylonian Battle Patrol" is at the moment, thank you.
Hold True Babylon, Hold True and Desolation Row will be hurt bad.
Well I have written much here, compared to your few lines.
Be well, and may the Three Nation Alliance hold true,
Paddy
