well i for one, am NOT surprised that Herman Melville of all people, was a vehicle for revelation. Someone struggling with spiritual questions could do a lot WORSE than to read Moby Dick.

neither existed before the 20th century...


polycarp, origin, apostles, martin luthar, AS Peake, Melito, Justin Martyr, the apologists, philip the evangalist (60s CE), the nicene council, Aristides, Philotheos Bryennios, Clement, Eusubius, didache, apocrapha, Diaterraron never mention the bible code, rapture, or anything like it. there is 1900 years of history that do not mention the bible code or rapture.
(if you do look in modern religious texts, you may find something about a lady in the united kingdom pertaining to.....)

My understanding is that the code could only be found with the advent of the computer.

If you read the "Moby Dick Code" link (there's a bunch of stuff on that site) you realise that you could find such code in any large enough book.

IIRC, the proportion of matches was pretty much equal. The fact that they found contradictory messages using the bible-code message also disproves it as an intentional code. Fact is that you could think of pretty much anything and find it in any substantial text using this message.
