FYI, this catholic versus protestant countries argument is excedingly dumb. Germany is as much a catholic country as protestant. The US is about a quarter catholic too. Northern Italy is just as advanced as Germany. Austria is no less advanced than other European countries and is catholic. The most productive country in the world per capita is Luxembourg and is catholic. Ireland is about top of the tables for production per capita. Etc.

Like in what? There are stuff in which Poland has reasons to be proud of. For example, Poland produces the best amphetamine in the world....

Also, China and India are the upcoming powers that will eclipse your pathetic Christian states |
China is a tyrant state. And India, if not for the hindu fanatics, would have a catholic prime minister right now...
Also, do not try to predict future.

You made me spill a can of beer all over my keyboard and I'm being rude?
Just make a list of Catholic countries and a list of Protestant countries, check who the most advanced are and then come back to me. |
You and Oerdin seemingly do not distinguish between religions and denominations.
I was talking about Christian countries, not just Catholic ones.

I'm still pissed off at the Catholic Church for interfering with the last Presidential elections in the United States. Some bastard Catholic Bishop claimed no Catholic should vote for Kerry since Kerry was divorced and his plateform said he would uphold the US law which alowed abortions. That Cathlic spokesman also called upon the excommunication of Kerry for the same reasons as above.
As far as I'm concerned the RCC couldn't get more political then that. They're lucky I'm not in charge because I would have revoked the RCC's nonprofit status (only nonpolitical organizations can legally hold nonprofit status) and then I would have confiscated most of their property when they couldn't pay the massive tax bill. That would teach those damn priests to keep their opinions to themselves. |
It was the right stance. Catholics should not vote on people who want to allow murder of innocent children.
It's morality, not pure politics. Voting on someone willing to legalise abortion is like voting in favour of legalising abortion, and catholics should not do it. You're an enemy of religious freedom.

The Nordics are the most socially advanced in Europe. I guess Spain has improved somewhat in the two decades since I was there. I think Austria is a pretty decent country. China and India can't be called upcoming, because of their long history and great past. And does comparing Catholic vs Protestant nations really mean much with so many of these nations so secular?
Are the teachings of Jesus less civilized than the believers of Roman Mythology, for example?
