Well, I"m looking for things that require little cooking, so cold cut meats are fine...pot roast...not so much...

This is only because of the storage bit.
Bread - whole grain preferably
Foil Pouch tuna - hickory smoked
mushrooms - canned (fresh are superior)
Block cheddar cheese
Require cooking.
Olive Oil pan, add a touch of garlic, and pan fry bread. Remove.
Replenish Olive Oil, then sautee mushrooms and tuna.
Put mushrooms and tuna on bread, add slices of cheddar, microwave 20-25 seconds to melt cheddar.
about 5 minutes of work, more if slicing fresh mushrooms. Solid taste.

I have the pregnant wife who gets hungry at strange times, so I too have a fridge full of sandwhich stuffs so that something can be whipped together on a moments notice.
RIght now we have:
Chicken Salad
Egg Salad
Peanut Butter
Jelly
Mayo
Mustard
Lettuce (if you think it will rot before you use it get rid of it)
Honey
Pickles
Sprouts (good lettuce substitute)
Roast Beef
Pastrami
Swiss Cheese
American Cheese
Tomatoes
Chicken Salad: 2 Cups Chopped Cooked CHicken (I boiled it, but you can probably get it already cooked), 1 cup diced red peppers, 1 cup diced celery, 1 cup mayo, 1/3 cup relish... mix together, keeps forever.
Egg Salad is just hard boiled eggs, mayo, and relish
What she ussually eats: Grilled CHeese, Roast Beef and swiss, PEanut Butter and JElly or PB and Honey, and I eat that pastrami

Easy and keeps; tinned corned beef and mustard.
My favourite is bacon, peanut butter and vegemite/marmite, but it's not really for long term storage... maybe dried ham instead of the bacon?
