Aeson, as you know I'm on the 'net most evenings. I am able to play the save once a day, but the email seems to be the problem.

However, if other people won't to drop the game, I will not complain.

This is not my first PBEM but it is my first on Apolyton. What rules do we follow? I have read the PBEM-Info-Thread. Do I need to look Iron Civer Rules as well? And what about shared victory now? Is it allowed? If not, are alliances allowed with the aim to crush all players outside the alliance (and fight for the victory between the alliance partners afterwards)?

If you read the first 25 or so posts in this thread, that pretty much covers any discussion we've had. In summary, we're doing simple obligatory combat reporting (although not everyone stated they would be doing so), and snoopy doesn't want to use Iron Civer rules because having guidelines for player disscussions means you can't have diplomacy...

As for alliances and victory conditions- as far as I can tell, FFA now stands for Free For All.

IC rules, Rommel, are stricter than normal, and restrict diplomatic options intentionally. You made them after all, so I'm sure i'm not telling you anything new.

I prefer to play most games without those restrictions; it's more fun if you can converse without embassies being required, discuss map details without having to have navigation, etc. Not that there perhaps in some games shouldn't be these restrictions; but "for fun" games certainly shouldn't.

Well the whole point was that this was an AU course focusing on diplomacy, and your initial argument was therefore we should not have rules restricting any diplomacy. I feel that structured diplomacy improves MP gameplay in a similar fashion to the AUmod for SP, so your POV confused me.

And now your argument is that we shouldn't use IC because we're just playing 'for fun', so you don't seem to be making much of a coherant argument...

(And the 'restrictive' rules I made up are basically the optional ones I suggested we not use. The bulk of the IC Warrior code is collected and edited from CFC, Demo games, and other lists generally regarded as 'common sense'.)

The Warrior code is IMO, OK, with the exception of F1. Everyone can use it, and all it does is speed up the game slightly. The only time it can be exploitive is when someone does not know of its' use.
