Hmm.
I have a friend who lives about 10 minutes from Indy. (where I live)
And he is from Hawaii originally.
And he is in your age range, I would expect.
Weird. PM on the way frankychan.

California cons:
1. Traffic is a nightmare
2. Housing costs are out of control (renting is relatively still affordable, buying a house has become nearly impossible)
3. Too much emphasis on selfishness, material wealth, and personal appearance
4. Poor family values, this is less of a problem among people who immigrate here from other countries or states |
Agree with you everything here. Especially number 3 in the cons.
Last week in newspapers, there was a list of top 5 fastest growing counties in US...
#2 - Riverside County
#3 - Los Angeles County
#5 - San Bernandio County
Something like that.
For those not familiar with SoCal, those counties all are in Southern California and right next to each other.
Growth = traffic, pollution, overcrowding, and ridiciolus property values.
Costa Mesa is a nice place if you live and work there, IMHO. It's within spitting distance of Newport Beach which is a very nice place to be if you don't mind tourists in summer.
