my body gone to ****, I have put on a decent ammount of weight (and weigh as much as I did last summer ~215-220, am 5'10.5" or so..)
I also am really really weak, and can hardly jog even a mile now
but I think nothing but working out 3 or more times a week will help me, because I have been working out 1 day a week for the last two weeks, but still put on 5 pounds (and I haven't been eating a lot either)
I do go to a gym, and do a bit with weights (free weights, focusing on my chest and arms), and some treadmills/whatever
I plan on going later today

oh, and I have generally worked out 1 day a week, since december when I weighed ~195-200 and could easily jog 2 miles...

I use a normal one disc DVD player rather than a five DVD changer.

Right now, I'm pretty much not doing what I'm supposed to do. I go to gym to do some BJJ and muay thai twice a week, and then to another gym to lift weights once a week. I don't like doing cardio, so I don't run or anything right now. I'm feeling OK though.. better than in a long time. I'll step up before the summer vacation starts though and the job starts, I'll go with the full workout mode for as long as I feel good about it, which means running 5 times a week, gym 3 times a week (weights), then every other week 5 times swim instead of running (joints and stress), and basically eat very right, 5 times a day, getting the right amount of protein, carbs and fat. At the same time I'll be doing my gym training with BJJ and muay thai naturally. I'm thinking of getting more boxing in me, I feel my hands aren't very good at all. What else.. I would love to cycle, but I don't have a bike but maybe I will buy one this summer so that's one I would be doing then. Also rollerblading.

Well, i am trying to lose my gut as my birthday gift for myself, and I decided to try out an excercise program based on a book my parents had bought.
The program relies heavily on weight lifting over aerobics, the notion being that its more important to build up muscle and boost the metabolism than just burn of calories, and that building new muscle is the best way to burn fat.
Its a 6 day schedule, 4 days weights, 2 days short but extensive aerobics. The first day, you do upper body weightlifting, then aerobic, then lower body weightlifting, repeat cycle.
For each muslce group, you do a declining set of reps with increaing weight. 12 reps at a medium weight, then 10, 8, and 6 reps, increasing the weight each time, with a minute rest between each set. After the 6 rep, you lower the weight to what you did 10 or 8 reps at, and you do 12 reps again, and then you switch to another excercise for the same muscle group and do 12 reps.
Those last 12 reps are murder-the muscle group hurts.
I just finished my first week. After the first lower body sesion, my legs hurt for 3 day, and I mean they hurt- it was hard going up or down stairs. Then I did my second sesion yesterday, and today my legs were barely sore. I guess that is a good sign.

Boris, ohh you nasty man, I should have known!
ANyways, back to the subject, I might be looking at new training methods myself too. Basically, I want to go and be a little smaller. I don't mean to bring down the body fat more, I just need to be more leaner overall, meaning I need to start training differently. I'm not Sly now, so it's not lkie I'm a brick or anything, but I'd dig more leaner style, since I think I'd look better that way, and I'm tired of trying to go bigger, because I'm naturally quite big so.. time to go smaller. Also I'm looking to get the ultimate healthy look. MY inspiration is Randy Couture, the nature boy is doing great training and I feel that's what I need to go for, just like him.. I want to be in his shape when I hit 40.
