I don't know.. I think, in general, our prisons are relatively safe. They are in scandinavian level, so, not like in the US. However, just like in everywhere else, sexual criminals, and especially pedohpiles are the lowest of the lowest. They rank at the absolute bottom, under the floor. What does that mean in practice, I do not know. In practice first of all, I think the prison staff will place him to section where he is most safe, because they can predict trouble if he is put amongts hardened murderers and violent criminals, so I don't think he's going there. In order to protect him. So, I predict he'll be amongts non-violent criminals, like ... well anything other than violent crime doers. Or if that becomes a problem, they'll put him in solitary.
I really don't know about our prisons though, all I know is that they are relatively safe, of course you can get into trouble if you don't follow their code, but all in all, you should be OK. If you're pedophile, then I don't know. But most likely you will come out alive, and killings inside prisons are not that frequent, even though beatings etc do happen, well naturally. Then again I don't know, these days they are pretty much dominated by the native gangs, some of them which are pretty badass, like if you belong to one, you have killed someone and can prove it. Things like that... and then the hardcore versions of that gang. So, they pretty much (I THINK) dominate, and on the other hand keep things calm I suppose. But then again, I've never been inside one, and I surely do not want to try, and if that would happen, I would pretty much forget about this speech and crap my pants and be very, very afraid to step in  .
