Uhh that's right.. somehow I always mix it with Japan.. sorry.
As a large threat in the west, what I meant was that in the east it accepts Samsungs dominance and is not trying to fight it, the current situation. Where as in the west, it is trying to fight Samsung and other companies as well. I shouldn't have used the word threat, it is misleading.
Nokia has accepted the domain of Samsung to be in the east, and the domain of Motorola to be in the US (with Samsung), and after a good start and then slow season and outright mistakes, which is what you said, neglecting the flippable phones, they are trying to make a second coming,by that I mean to establish a clear dominance.
And again, I have to agree with you and Asher on something, that it was again at thing everyone seemed to know except executives at Nokia, that the markets needs more stylish design, more accurately the flip phones.
And yes, of course everyoen is doing a race in China.
But I'm not interested in discussing about Nokia and their deeds in the world. So yeah, end of discussion as far as I go.

A few years ago I would have looked at all this and said "bullbatter," but nowadays it looks like the combination cell phone-camera-mp3 player-etc. is nearly possible. And I applaud the day when it comes, because right now I have an old cell phone, an elf camera, and a CD player, and all of them are "good enough" for me, but no, I don't have the newest flip phone, the most expensive camera with all the lenses and flashes and everything, or the tiniest, best sounding mp3 player. So even "good enough" camera-phone-player will be improvement for me, because it'll reduce what I lug around (and subsequently worry about losing, getting stolen, whatever), vastly increase what I can do (for example, right now all I ALWAYS carry around is my phone, what am I supposed to do if I see Elvis and Bigfoot making out on the steps of a UFO--I left my camera at home), and, for the 2 weeks that my model of cameraphoneplayer is "hot", bring me back up to technological equality.
But eventually we can't call them "cell phones" any more. Because a phone is something you use to call people. I see people taking pictures, sending text messages, surfing the web, listening to music, playing games on their "phones". It is ridiculous. Back in my day you used phones to call people! I imagine someone out there doesn't even use their phone for calling people at all. Good grief.
