Splenda, Dawn of the Dead, and there's a creature living in the wall next to me. Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

What is Splenda anyway? It's in alot of the diet stuff these days and I get alot of it. Will it do me in?

I'm watching 'Dawn of the dead'. No zombies yet.

Also, there is a critter living in the wall next to my comp. I've named him Zed. Could be a rat or mouse, but also might be a racoon. Makes loud thumping noises sometimes.

Ok, we've got zombies.

I assume it's the recent Dawn of the Dead remake, yes? Not as good as the original, but it makes up for it with brilliant opening and ending sequences. Sit through the credits.

Actually, DotD did well enough that there may well be a sequel (DotD2, or some crap like that), but i am much more stoked about Land of the Dead (which should have retained it's original title, Dead Reckoning.)

Lancer: haven't seen the DVD extras yet, but my friend has it, so it's a matter of time. Saturday nights are our time to get together, get stoned, eat good desserts and watch horror movies.

Oh, and if you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend Shaun of the Dead. More of a comedy than a horror film, but wonderful in every possible way.

Which will add to confusion, since it's a sequel to his movies. So we'll be back to slow, lumbering zombies, it seems.

Btw, the two leads from Shaun of the Dead will have a cameo in it.

And they are going to make a sequel to the remake of Dawn of the Dead. It won't have anything to do with the sequel to the original, however.

And Land of the Dead was a putrid piece of crap. Let's hope the next one is better.

Yeah, I meant Day of the Dead.

Nothing in the trailer indicated to me they could do more than lumber, still. Certainly nothing like the fast zombies in the remake.

I must defend Day of the Dead. It is dark, dark, dark, and has some wonderful moments of gore. It tends to deal more of what the survivors are doing as the dead rage outside, but is no less frightening for the human focus. Not as good as the first two for sure, but still a good little flick.

Another must-see horror/comedy zombie film is Return of the Living Dead. Not perfect by a long shot, but so wonderful in so many ways. One of my favorite films.

Splenda is yummy. Hordes of Canuks haven't dropped dead from the stuff, so we should assume it's safe. Hell, they're a lot pickier about food additives than the U.S. is.

Didn't you go to the Wiki site? They've had it since 1991.

I think products with bulk Splenda taste better than adding Splenda to stuff yourself. The stuff you buy in the store has maltodextrin as well, to help stabilize it for cooking, and maltodextrin has that aftertaste that you get in Splenda, Equal, and Sweet-N-Low (it's in all three).

There's a natureal sweatener from South America called stevia. Good stuff, no after taste.

I did, but I guess I missed that. We used packets of splenda we brought to the Phils to add to coffee. Tasted ok, didn't notice anything.
