So it's Star Trek meets Babylon 5? Did they rip the images off of movies or games? How confident are they that the copyright owners won't sue them?

Non-profit, and all those nifty models are made by them.
DVD's are.. hum, how do you say... Eh, the pressing and packaging cost's 20€, and the finished film costs 20€ to me, the "customer".
And there's that creative commons lisence bit, which propably could explain a bit, if I spoke legalese...

The music in ITP is also original, undoubtedly inspired by respective franchise music to some degree. The composer is a man named Tapani Siirtola, http://www.lumme-tuotanto.com/...
And I'm in no way associated with them, except that I bought a T-shirt with the Pirkinnian Empire's Raven in it, and am perched vehemently in the pre-order list for the DVD...
