Godfather I. The series is "The Godfather" and refering to the first one as the first one is helpful in distinguishing the movies.

The assertion is Imrans:

I'm really fascinated by this - please answer. I just can't imagine that you would expect to find a bunch of people not talking about the movie, or talking about, say, Toy Story.

I always called it the Godfather as I always called the very first star wars simply star wars but I know what people are talking about when they say A New Hope or Ep4. I even use it myself when I'm around the star wars uberGeeks at the Jedi Council Forums. http://boards.theforce.net/

I already explained this. I expected to find non-spoiler filled reviews and commentary. If spoilers were involved, I expected them to be marked or put in spoiler tags. Like how they do things at any number of sites devoted to moview reviews and discussion.

Not like this matters now, though. We have a proper thread for discussing the movie with spoilers.

I would say that Star Wars is a bit different than The Godfather example since it does have more movies in the series and the saga was done out of order but I'm not passionate enough about either to get into an argument.
