Pscyhotic sociopaths have been around long before the advent of television or video games. The kid is certainly deranged, and it's probably the fault of brain function mixed with bad parenting. But making assertions that it's TV's fault sans any evidence is just irresponsible, and stupid.

These kind of things happen all of the time. I heard a statistic that violent crime is actually on the decline but then again those statistics cna be manipulated.

Bottom line is, news agencies follow this rule : If it bleeds it leads.

violent crime is on the decline. Only because most violent people are in prison. Over 2 million by my last count. It might be over 3 million in the U.S. now.

the kid is ****ing seven years old viloent tv or games didnt show him this. He was jealous. Thats says it all. He really doesnt have the power at that age to accept and process what his actions will cause. He wanted attention. Im almost sure that this kid didnt willingly set out to kill his sister but rather get her to stop crying. The adults were wrong in leaving this child alone witht the infant but that doesnt make them bad parents just says they had na lapse in better judjement

You seem to place more conscious awareness into 7-year-olds than any psychologist would.

I remember when I was 7(ish). I beat the crap out of this kid on the soccer field because he kicked the ball when I wanted to kick it.

My parents never let me watch violent TV, or play video games, until I was about 10.

Why did I do it, then?

But was he mature enough to fully know the consequences of his actions. Could he fully grasp WHAT death is? I'm not talking philosophically or anything, but about a full spectrum understanding of death on the basic level.

I knew what life and death was back then. but I didn't actually know how to kill. this kid knew how to kill. How did this kid know to get a 2 X 4?
