Don't eat chips or ice cream. Don't really eat any junk food at all (I just don't buy that when I go to store)

Yesterday I ate:

1/2 bag of cheese&spinach tortellini (6.5 oz dry weight) with 1/4 jar marinara sauce (~125 ml)

1 can manhattan style clam chowder

3 glasses iced tea

2 peaches

no, that is used to calculate your kcal/day

1.2 Bed Rest
1.3 Sedentary
1.4 Active
1.5 Very Active

I think is how you get your cal per day (multiplay those numbers by one of your numbers (Which one depending on your activity and the like))

(of course... you do different things during the day)

I would just use the calculator they provide, to give a rough estimate

Yeah, I assumed as much from the "basal" part.

I suppose my activity level is sedentary, so it would land me on ~2350, which I'd think is less than I normally eat per day.

I have started caring about my calorie intake last summer, after an especially bad week (well, it tasted excellent, but was extremely exagerated).

I lost 7kg in 6 weeks once I started being cautious. My weight is now stabilized at around 70-72kg for 1,76m (I have very little muscle mass, so I still look a tad chubby).

I avoid sugary drinks, save for juices, which I consider as deserts (the calorie amount of a glass of juice is equivalent to a small desert). I avoid fat, except if I consider it as a complement to an otherwise frugal meal (depending on my hunger, I might or might not ask for sauce in my kebab). I try to eat no more than 150-200g of meat per meal. I'm cautious about cookies, which I eat only when I feel bad, or when I haven't intaken any calorie that day.

BTW, back when I was interested in the question, I was positively surprised by the Weight Watcher's method. The system is easily understandable, and it matches what I could read or hear on dietetics fairly well .

I think the Weight Watcher's method (not to be confused with WW commercial products) can seriously help anybody who's serious about getting a healthy diet.

The difference is that I was well on my way of becoming obese (I had eaten way too much for one weak, and it topped off years of fairly bad habits). My doctor actually congratulated me for returning in the normal weight range.

On fat- the human body needs fat to run efficiently, so it is a mistake to take fat out of the diet.

That said, you can use vegetable fats like avocados, nuts, or olive oil to get the fat you need. Obviously animal fats should be limited.

I am hoping to lose an extra 7 kg. in the next 6 weeks as well. Then I will be 7kg overweight, as opposed to 20 kg overweight.

my general day would be something like

1 package tortellini: ~1500 calories
1/2 jar marinara sauce: ~280 calories
a glass or two of juice ~200 calories

which puts me at ~2k for eating at home

usually

eating out at fast food is often like

Bean Burrito
7.0 oz=198 g
2 Servings: 740.0 calories

but then I eat again...

( I am pretty sure that my tortellini is less then 1.5k per package, and that my sauce is more then 560 per can... but I Think it still comes out to be a bit under 2k for tortellini with sauce)

Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

Your diet seems really low on fiber, and perhaps a bit incomplete of protein (pasta is not complete protein).

Might not be excess calories, but its not a very rounded diet.

That's what you get when your one meal of the day consists of a huge slab of beef.

Normal days are closer to 25-30%
