	how to change the map size? Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

I am somewhat new to modding. I started fooling around with the text and slc files in my ctp games a few years ago to make them more fun for me and to cheat. now I have an interesting project I want to try but I can';t seem to find any info to help me get started.

I have found that the maps are too SMALL and I want to make a SUPER GIGANTIC MAP. essentially what I'mm looking at is about 3320 x 6640 panels. my goal is to make a map of the earth that fits that size. I tried to change MAP_SIZE for the large map but that didn't seem to work. I was hoping someone here might have some ideas to help me out.

I have a copy of the largest one known, about 2000x1000. At that scale the cities are almost life sized. SonOfMoose and I were just discussing cleaning it up for use; it didn't copy over perfectly. There are lots of dead zones, especially where some rivers are and few other issues. It originally came from an Omni map I think and a link is in one of the more current CtP2 threads. I was going to start cleaning it up next month (after I finish my CtP2 AoM game and before Civ4 comes out).

look for these lines in const.txt

# These map size settings must all be defined,
# and in this order
#
MAP_SIZE_SMALL 26 52 2
MAP_SIZE_MEDIUM 48 96 2
MAP_SIZE_LARGE 64 128 2
MAP_SIZE_GIGANTIC 70 140 2

just don't go to big or the random map generator won’t work perfect

Perhaps it might be easier for you to experiment a bit with Omni's world map. This (from what I have heard) is a pretty good template .... except for the missing rivers.

Maybe you can try to download it (I think that there is a link in my thread) and see whether you can make a 3320 x 6640 tile version from it.

This will be approximately NINE (3x3) times bigger than the current version that Vince and the Immortal Wombat are working on.

Obviously you are free to work on your own map but it would just seem to make better sense for all MEGAMAP proponents to work together on this project.

Please let us know (either in this thread or my other thread in this forum) whether you might be interested in some form of collaboration.
