	Do you approve of the Consuls? Put an end to popups!

Nobody has done this yet. Maybe it isn't needed, but I don't feel I have any mandate beyond having made one post in one thread and therefore it seems I am accepted to be a member of the triumvirate.

Well, I feel a bit more is needed. Perhaps I simply crave attention, unlikely, or I think more than lip service needs be paid to procedure. Also, it would be useful to the Consuls to know who occupies which seat. Who will be up for reelection first (the least votes?) and who will have three months (the most?).

An option to reject the ballot is included. If you feel that the procedure is flawed, please select that option and please say what the flaw is so that it may be discussed and corrections possibly made.

It might be better to have two polls. One worth 2 points (#1 consul vote) and one worth 1 point (#2 consul vote). Otherwise Consuls only get votes if they're the #1 choice.

That would be an idea, but is it necessary?

All I am looking for is some indication of the public will. Up til now it has been left totally open, and I feel, up in the air. A simple poll will give the Consuls some guidance on the issue.

However, if you think it should be done, and others agree with you, then there is no reason we could not strike this poll and begin two more.

Three people. I might interpret it to mean that they do not like the Constitution and offices being played fast and loose with.

In the absence of comment otherwise, that would be what I would go with.

Either that or they think my poll was a bad idea and we should do something like Kloreep suggested.

Ok, we have 3 Consuls now!

The order of seating, as far as terms go is:


1. notyoueither - 3 months

2. Octavian X - 2 months

3. Lord Nuclear - 1 month

Next election for LN's seat to take place will take place on August 7th with nominations and declarations for accepting nominations due by August 4th.

The rules for elections have been pasted here; they are copied from our Constitution.

Each month, one of the three Consul positions shall come up for election. Consul positions which have never undergone scheduled elections shall undergo scheduled elections once per month in order of the tenure of the position's occupant until all Consul positions have undergone scheduled elections. Once all Consul positions have undergone scheduled elections, the Consul position up for election each month shall be the one which has gone 3 months since its last scheduled election. Any citizen who is not holding another Consul position may become a candidate. Candidates for scheduled Consular elections must announce their candidacy by the 4th day of the month. Scheduled Consular elections will be held for 72 hours starting on the 7th of the month. If a single candidate obtains a majority of votes in the first vote, he will be the new Consul. If no candidate achieves a majority of the votes, then a second vote will immediatley be held for 48 hours between the two leading candidates of the first vote. If a tie on the first vote prevents only two candidates from being chosen for the second vote, then any ties will be broken by a vote of the the other Consuls and the three ministers until there are only two leading candidates available for the second vote. If there is a tie vote and only two candidates have received votes, the current holder of the Consul office will break the tie.

Can I get all 3 of the Consuls to fire off a test email to PAL, to both addresses, to make sure everything is in order? Thanks. Please let me know if the test emails get through and you get a reponse from PAL. We want a reponse from each email sent.
