I am sorry. Before we start contacting the nations of the world I must resign this position whatever it might be. Being Vox Inannum of Babylon is one thing, but I will not be responsible for dropping the ball in communications with a nation when there are close to 90 players counting on me. Real life must take priority and I want to stay on good terms with the members of Apolyton.

in the previous game con+beta+vander made a little bit less than I could expect from one person. I'm sure you'll be able to do your job. If the time comes and you have some issues with RL, you may always ask the consuls to help you or drop a message for a permanent replacement.

But don't drop before anything real has happen

Honest, it is about having fun and helping to contribute. If for whatever reason you are not comfortable, fine. However, just know, the pressure side particularly with FAM duity isn't hard. Just try to become friends with the other team you are "assigned" to, do semi regular chats, and when things heat up, be around to offer advice and to write "official" correspondances. Simple. It is more just keeping a line of communication open with the team is all.

Skrobism, trust me, if anyone will have a chance at screwing up this team's diplomacy IT WILL BE ME

Negotiations will be conducted with other players present as happened in the ISDG so there's no chance of one man goofing up by himself.

Seriously, give it a shot, if you like diplomacy and you think you'd be good at it, try it, it's MUCH more fun here.

As for Aro, I doubt there'd be a better person to conduct diplomacy with the Brazilians than you (or me being the other Latinamerican).

So, would you guys be up for it? I'd like skrobism to be the first ambassador to whatever team we meet, unless it happens to be CivBrazil which would be Aro's. But of course, that's all up to you...

Btw, anyone here speak French? (Je peux, mais je prefere quelqu'un qui parle meillure que moi).

Well since no one will accept my resignation. I am in for contact with one civ. I have no hard feeling about the things going on in Eve Of Destruction. It's a game and these are the things that I enjoy about gaming. It just takes time.

I'm in. I will need a diplomatic vehicle, and a line of credit.

Skro, one thing that we try to do, is to make sure that we have more than enough people to take up any RL slack from the others. Unfortunatly, that isn't available in eod, because of the smaller size of the team (although working to correct it, we are)

That really shouldn't happen here.

although, it would be a nice SOP for the FAM people to post, ahead of time, when they might not be available, due to RL.

By the way, how was the Christening?

Hey, feel free to resign if you want to, it's just that I think you should give it a shot first and then decide on whether you want to stick with it or not. But the choice is yours and I think you won't regret it

I saw that thread, people of the same language, let alone nationality, are much easier to click. That is VERY usefull for diplomacy since we automatically get honesty and confortable points without having to talk smooth first. It's kind of like hitting on a girl when you already know she likes you.

From the little I've read of the C3CDG, the Horde was just waiting for any excuse to attack.

In the ISDG every bit of correspondance was posted in public for the rest of the FAM members, consuls and citizens to approve of, and every chat was supervised by others.

Like I said before, if anyone will take the blame for failures in diplomacy will be me.

Yep. Even if we have more people than needed for FAM tasks, it's still good to have someone extra incase RL intrudes for someone else. Also, they can attend chats at times that others might not be able to.

Another chair has opened up. I am spending way too much time in EoD Babylon. I have another PBEM to play. Big project starting at work, soccer starting soon, you know real life. I can't waste anymore time on this. It's better that I quit before a nation gets assigned to me.

Yeah, just because I tricked you into giving us fuedalism for 30 gold, doesn't mean you're a bad diplomat. As a diplomat, you were, and still are, great. Your team should have been more paranoid though, and that was your mistake there...

No. It's not the being tricked thing. Honest no hard feeling. I can reuse that same WMD treaty at least three more times to get Babylon screwed repeatedly. The real issue is I'm spending WAY too much time & having way too much on Diplo games at work and home. I really can't see being the lead diplomat in another game.

So, to Krill. You got us good. No worries.
To PLATO. Thanks for trying to reduce my workload in Babylon. When you succeed, maybe I'll sign up here again.
