and I mean the soda of course.
It just.. there's something magical about it. Right now, it's a hot day, super hot by our standards, I'm uncomfortable, almost sweating inside, actually sweting a bit, in my shorts, but I have a glass that I'm freezing a bit, I have ice cubes, these perfect ice cubes I make (I make really awesome ice cubes by the way) and COLD Coke in the fridge.. I'm getting the out in about 10 minutes. Ohh.. I mean, it just lifts up the atmosphere for me. I just... I just love Coke. That's the way it is.
Are you seriously addicted to any products like Coke, or.. well any products? Excluding alcohol, drugs, and smokes.

OK.. well there's mystery to it that even I don't know.. I have such freezer in my fridge, in this new flat I live in.. I mean well it's not new but I have used it from feb since I moved in this one so.. somehow, this freezer makes all the difference. I guess it's at perfect temperature or something. The structure of the cubes is just beautiful. ALSO I make fairly big ones, the shape of oval, not perfect since that's kind of boring but almost perfect and everyone with little differencies to make them unique and not boring techno robot ice cubes. This way when they look at each other and raise to the top of the glass when I pour the coke in, it's more fun and exciting, even for them as well as the viewer. Some like rough cubes, some like silky smooth, I like in between.
This might sound little out there but I'm really very strict about ice cubes. I mean I can enjoy my drinks with any type of cubes, but most people won't make more difference with them cubes than just big vs small, cubicles vs round ones etc. I'm like the dude in Sideways with the wine.. that's how I'm with cubes.
There's no one way to do it or one good shape, structure and feel to them, but there's a guideline for me as to what I like and it's really not just trivial.
Also you're supposed to have exactly 3 or 4 cubes, depending on their size and how the react to each other. FOr example if there's the shy cubes, that kind of are afraid of each other, and keep distance and only rarely bouncing, that's not good. Also if they are too big it's not good either, because the few big bastards will dominate the surface, and they are pushing one or two under them, and when you drink, well it sucks because you can't get a good mouthful of soda into your mouth, it fails the standard outlet of a zip.
I think I won't go much further, there's tons of standards and nuances to ice cubes, how to do it, what's good and what's not good, different combos, taking the enviroment and the social construction of the drinkers etc etc.
But let's just say there are many amateurs whose ice cubes melt too fast, way too fast, the wrong size and shape, and they don't make any difference except make the clinging sound when they collide to the glass and with each other and feel against your face when you drink it and supposedly keeping them cold. But that's just the beginning to ice cubes and I feel it's almost insult to treat this art of cubing (AoC) as such.. because it does matter.. of course it doesn't matter so much when you only had mediocre cubes AT BEST.
It's the straw, the slice of lemon, all the decorations, the colours, the.. it's what makes the difference in great drink and just a drink. I've self studied the AoC and I consider myself to be really good at it, knowledable and extremely passionate. If there was schooling for it, I think the certificate should carry my name, that's how educated I am about the subject.
But.. like I said, this requires lengthy answers I don't think you want to read a book about the Art of Cubing.

I love Coca Cola in a bottle. That is the best. Good luck finding them though. I have to make a special trip to Newark, DE newsstand to get them in a bottle.

In fact, in many places I've been to, coke is cheaper and more readily available than water.
