I'm truly addicted to Coke Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

and I mean the soda of course.

It just.. there's something magical about it. Right now, it's a hot day, super hot by our standards, I'm uncomfortable, almost sweating inside, actually sweting a bit, in my shorts, but I have a glass that I'm freezing a bit, I have ice cubes, these perfect ice cubes I make (I make really awesome ice cubes by the way) and COLD Coke in the fridge.. I'm getting the out in about 10 minutes. Ohh.. I mean, it just lifts up the atmosphere for me. I just... I just love Coke. That's the way it is.

Are you seriously addicted to any products like Coke, or.. well any products? Excluding alcohol, drugs, and smokes.

I used to be addicted to dr. pepper and mountain dew. Although I'd drink coke if that's all they had.

coke tastes best in cans. It has the perfect flavour. It doesn't taste nearly as good as a fountain drink. And it's not as good in plastic bottles.

Those were my 3 sodas of choice back in my navy days before I kicked caffeine.

I still have fond memories of them. but I doubt I'll go back.

Yep- soda tastes great in cans ( and in glass bottles is ok, too). Beer shouldn't be sold in anything other than kegs and glass bottles.

Enter the AD-FREE zone

I actually have no idea, but I remember having the same conversation with a friend of mine yesterday.

I am sure there are some surface reactions, but I am not sure I can put my finger on which ones. Glass, which is a form of crystalline Silica - SiO2 and Aluminium cans, In which the Surface is Aluminum Oxide Al2O3.

And heaven forbid anyone would make plastic beer bottles.

OK.. well there's mystery to it that even I don't know.. I have such freezer in my fridge, in this new flat I live in.. I mean well it's not new but I have used it from feb since I moved in this one so.. somehow, this freezer makes all the difference. I guess it's at perfect temperature or something. The structure of the cubes is just beautiful. ALSO I make fairly big ones, the shape of oval, not perfect since that's kind of boring but almost perfect and everyone with little differencies to make them unique and not boring techno robot ice cubes. This way when they look at each other and raise to the top of the glass when I pour the coke in, it's more fun and exciting, even for them as well as the viewer. Some like rough cubes, some like silky smooth, I like in between.

This might sound little out there but I'm really very strict about ice cubes. I mean I can enjoy my drinks with any type of cubes, but most people won't make more difference with them cubes than just big vs small, cubicles vs round ones etc. I'm like the dude in Sideways with the wine.. that's how I'm with cubes.

There's no one way to do it or one good shape, structure and feel to them, but there's a guideline for me as to what I like and it's really not just trivial.

Also you're supposed to have exactly 3 or 4 cubes, depending on their size and how the react to each other. FOr example if there's the shy cubes, that kind of are afraid of each other, and keep distance and only rarely bouncing, that's not good. Also if they are too big it's not good either, because the few big bastards will dominate the surface, and they are pushing one or two under them, and when you drink, well it sucks because you can't get a good mouthful of soda into your mouth, it fails the standard outlet of a zip.

I think I won't go much further, there's tons of standards and nuances to ice cubes, how to do it, what's good and what's not good, different combos, taking the enviroment and the social construction of the drinkers etc etc.

But let's just say there are many amateurs whose ice cubes melt too fast, way too fast, the wrong size and shape, and they don't make any difference except make the clinging sound when they collide to the glass and with each other and feel against your face when you drink it and supposedly keeping them cold. But that's just the beginning to ice cubes and I feel it's almost insult to treat this art of cubing (AoC) as such.. because it does matter.. of course it doesn't matter so much when you only had mediocre cubes AT BEST.

It's the straw, the slice of lemon, all the decorations, the colours, the.. it's what makes the difference in great drink and just a drink. I've self studied the AoC and I consider myself to be really good at it, knowledable and extremely passionate. If there was schooling for it, I think the certificate should carry my name, that's how educated I am about the subject.

But.. like I said, this requires lengthy answers I don't think you want to read a book about the Art of Cubing.

never seen them in plastic bottles. I think he was coming out against beer in cans too.

I don't like beer in cans. Though admittedly I've never drank good beer in cans. I've drank budweiser and keystone beer in cans. They just don't taste good. Beer tastes better in bottles. Actually it tastes best in kegs at a bar served in a glass(I've never enjoyed kegs at home parties in plastic cups)

and soda taste better in cans. At least coca cola and dr. pepper taste better in cans.

and oragne juice tastes best in a cardboard container. (over a plastic container)

I can't explain it. That's just the way it is.

I think the feeling against beer in cans is mostly placebo, dating from the days that cans were made from steel ( which can react with the liquid), and not aluminium like now. It's probably like the monkeycage-banana-waterhose experiment.

I just had a great idea.. I mean.. I'd like to learn video editing and some filming.. because I want to do few short clips.. of course the tribute video to myself, featuring me, glorifying me, the ultimate ego thing, just so overboard. I think I would be the first one on the history of mankind to spread a tribute video to myself on the internet. I'd fake name it 'big busted blond riding a midget' to get maximum circulation on P2P-networks..

However, yeah the second video should be about AoC.. it would show the perfect cubes dropping into the glass from perfect Cube Drop (CD), with the perfect wrist usage and the whole technique. Slow motion all the way.. while Chariots of Fire is playing.. Then text coming up one word at a time 'you.. deserve... the best..' then back to ice cubes, show them racing to the top of the glass with coke as the accelerator, then text comes again but with sentences and on the backround 'From world leaders..
to athletes.. to you... greatness in glass... glory in front of your lips.. The Art of Cubing, brought to you by AoC'.

Oh man I BET I would get millions from it if I then started lecturing and giving information about it. Yeah..

how warm is it in Suomiland right now?

And my addiction is the same, Coca-Cola, although I'll go on record saying from cans is shite. Well maybe not that bad. But plastic bottles are better IMO. Preferably glass bottles or from the tap.

I was seriously addicted in my first year at uni. I'd go through a 2 litre bottle every day. But I've got it under control and very rarely drink it now. And I'm better off for it.

I knew several people who drank that much. For the last few months (?) there has been a lot of talk (here in DK) about kids drinking too most Cola, so there's a new "rule" that says (IIRC) kids (17 and younger) should drink max 2 liters of Cola per week... or something like that... I haven't really followed this talk

They do make beer in plastic bottles. The only places I've seen sell them are stadiums. Probably easier to to deal with than draft beer, plus without the pesky glass bottles for people to toss when they get too drunk.

In DK there's one company that sells beer in plastic bottles (in stores), or at least at some point there was a lot of campaigning about it at some time. I have no idea if it's worse than normal bottles since I don't drink beer and I know nobody who has tried those... at least not of what I know, of course I haven't asked around about it...

All beer should be sold in plastic bottles. It's a really stupid idea to give glass to a drunkard.

I can't go anywhere in the park without seeing an occasional shard of a broken beer bottle.

Since I quit Burger King I don't drink that much of it anymore. But I still feel the desire for at least 1 bottle a day. Still better than BK where I drank it like water.
