UNIQUE PROMOTIONS

Give each Civilization a Unize type of Promotion, various limitations might apply to what kind of unit it can be attacked too ofcorse and it shouldnt be rediculusly powerfull just more unique and flavorfull then the "generic" Promotions.

For Example The English could have an extra level of "Sea Movment" beyond what other Civs can get. The Japanese have a "Bushido" ability that can be applied to certain Infantry units and nutralizes Enemy Promotions or a "Kamakaki" ability which should be rather self explamitory.

Oh and just incase someone else already had this idea, I apologize I didn't read most of the thread.

I already had this idea, it's on the fourteenth reply on the page 2.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

Babylonians? Babs seem to be out, and the city of Cherokee doesn't sound very babylonian either. So what makes you feel the archers could be babs?

Well, we don't have proof that the Babylonians are out, the black flag with the gold bull is the Babylonian flag in Civ4, Agade is a Babylonian city, and the UU for Babylonian in the past was the Bowman, and there are Bowman in the two cities with the Babylonian flag.

As for Cherokee, I have no idea what that's about. That is not a city name of any of the factions, so it must be some sort of placeholder.

So, whether or not the Babylonians are in Civ4, I would definitely say that they were in Civ4.

Losing them would be as bad as losing the Greeks would have been.

FYI, Agade is the Sumerian name for Akkad, the capital of Sargon, the founder of the first Babylonian empire.

Yes, I was aware of that, but in the past, Agade has always been a Babylonian city in Civ games. (Exception: After C3C, I believe it was moved to the Sumerian city list. I could be wrong.)

FYI, for a very brief time, I was using Sargon of Akkad as my avatar.

That isn't considered the first Babylonian Empire, that's the Akkadian Empire. The first Babylonian dynasty began c. 1950 BC with Su-abu, but the Empire proper began with Hammurabi's rule, which began ~100 years later.

This is also true. Many look to Akkad as the progenitor of the first real Assyrian empire, which began with Shamshi-Adad I. Even the Assyrians considered Akkad a part of their past (ex. King Sargon II was named after Sargon of Akkad, not an Assyrian Sargon I).

However, since neither Sumer (exception = C3C), Akkad nor Assyria are in the game, all their cities go to Babylon, the token Mesopotamian civ.

As a matter of fact, the city is in both lists in C3C; as Akkad in the Babylonian and as Agade in the Sumerian.

Additionally, Babil is in the Sumerian list.

None less than A. Leo Oppenheim characterized Sargon's realm as the first Babylonian empire.

The later Babylonian kings styled themselves "kings of Sumer and Akkad".

I'm not really big on Russia having a nuclear UU, unless civs have multiple UUs. I don't always like to use nukes in the game, and I'd hate to be artificially 'encouraged' to use my nukes.

But like I said, if there are multiple UUs I'd be OK with it.

I'd also be OK with it if it was a cruise missile-based UU.

No, I was not thinking about this as nuke UU, I was thinking of it as of "highly mobile all-terrain artillery vehicle" or the SCUD launcher (as it's called).
SCUDs can be used for multiple types of payload - from conventional to nuclear and biochemical.

Nukes are only optional when you have the prereqs for them.

Indeed. The Indian war elephant was encountered by Alexander's army, and his successor Seleucus valued them so highly he was prepared to give Eastern provinces to Chandragupta for 500 elephants.

And of course we have them to thank for the rook in chess and the Elephant and Castle shopping centre in south London.....
