I don't understand why there is a queue of English teams beating down his door to get him to sign. I'm not sur he'd fit into the Chelsea system, but Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool should be desperate to have him. He's a fantastic players and £11million is a huge bargain.
It makes no sense that no good teams seem to want him. |
Most of the top Premiership clubs have more strikers than they can play. Even with Saha never fit Man U have plenty of strikers (and I'm not sure Owen and Rooney would really work together). I'd be very surprised to see him back at Liverpool. Benitez strikes me as a very ruthless manager and having got rid of Owen when he wanted to go, I can't see Rafa taking him back at any price.
Arsenal may be his best chance if Wenger decides to sell and buy but it's getting a bit close to the start of the season for that now.

If Newcastle can get £10 mill for a player like Jenas then good luck to them. |
Graeme Souness even wants £15m for him, ill laugh if anyone pays either (whilst praying it wont be Spurs).

hehe, Owen and Rooney better play together as they're together in the England team. Sven must be hoping he goes to ManU

Owen's agent said he'd only consider a team in the champions league. That rules them out. |
Agree, he can afford to be picky. Its not like he even needs regular first team football to get picked in the WC squad.

Shame Everton didnt beat Manure, they were much better first half. Everton definitely need a decent striker, Beattie is useless.

Liverpool were pretty crap too. Even though Morientes got 2 the other day in the CL id still play Cisse up front, even Baros looks sharper.
Morientes played up front on his own today and Gerrad had 4 of the best chances of the game...
