	What percentage of the world's population do you believe are going to hell? Remove this text

I'm assuming a Christian/Muslim type hell here, though the question may apply just as well to other unpleasant afterlife destinations (e.g., Niflheim, Buddhist type hell, etc.). If your religion happens to have multiple unpleasant afterlife destinations (e.g., Purgatory), then use your judgment as to whether they're unpleasant enough to count as "hell" for the sake of this highly scientific internet poll.

When I'm not in full atheist mode I figure that everyone goes to Purgatory, mingle and make contacts and after the 'fires' have 'cleansed' them of their sins in a few thousand years they wander upstairs. So 100% burn, almost 100% go to heaven. You have to be a real bastard to stay down below, and if you're a nicer person you have less sins to 'cleanse'. I figure if God's not as much of a ****er as Christians make him out to be he'd let most souls in Heaven.

I'd actually considered putting in a "I don't believe in hell" option, but I wanted to see who would be the first person to pitch a fit over the horrible biasedness of my poll.

I fail to see the difference between 0% of people going to hell and hell not existing. It's not like it's North Dakota or something -- you don't need to drive through it to get from point A to point B, and it's presumably unobservable from without, so if it isn't populated then for all intents and purposes it doesn't exist.

So that I wouldn't have to add another ten options in which people could specify what percentage of people go to not-hell. As the poll is currently written, if you believe that 0-10% of people go to hell, then you presumably believe that 90-100% of people go to not-hell, whereas if you don't believe in an afterlife then you don't believe in an afterlife.

Yup. Heaven is supposedly more radiant than seven stars. All the heat gets wasted, making it much more sinfully inefficient than hell.
