Are we playing on Hard difficulty?
PS
All of my neighbors (1, 11, 10, 5) leave a little room. I'm making connections to each of you.
(Will wait to actually play until we decide what difficulty we want, and will Osweld play?)
EDIT: Well nevermind about which map Osweld will pick. Maybe I'll gather a little commerce from being the central city of all cities picked so far, but that's not necessarily allways true; last game, EPW definitely outdid in population terms everyone else even though he had only two neighbors.

You can expect a monorail connection from me (plus one to Ludd). Ill leave a gap all down that side after the first turn, but ill have to make at least one road connection to you before the first turn.
BTW i think we'll definitely be playing on Hard, no one had any problems before, plus its way too easy already i think.

Although from what i can tell on other maps, my region isnt actually part of Kitakyushu?

Hang on Mrmitchel, I have very little landmass available to me in Region 1, I'd feel a lot more comfortable if you'd let me place the connections since I may need to connect with up to 4 neighbors with extremely limited land space to do so.

Ok Atragon, I will not connect with you. And what a shame. I had rail, avenue, the works planned!
Maq I've already built a little rail but I will accept your monorail connection and maybe when the city is big enough will replace my existing network with the monorail.

Don't worry - with this many players, the economy keeps on booming.

As you can see Takeshi Bay is a complete mess of residential sprawl, breaking only for the the citys single redeeming feature, the sweeping monorail system, which currently has no stations.
There are no artificial amenities in Takeshi Bay, in fact the only government controlled building is one large fire station, which was placed in a hurry when someone fell asleep whilst roasting turnips shipped in from Elmwood. They were consequently stripped, paddled, and pelted with gravel and hot bovril.

$136, but i dont have any stations yet. With 25 stations its $603. Not sure if this goes up even higher once usage is high, but theyll be profits too.
Am i right in thinking mostly middle class use trains/monorail? Lower class prefer busses and upper class use subway? Or do upper class use monorail?

Monorail
Lyle Lanley: Well, sir, there's nothing on earth
Like a genuine,
Bona fide,
Electrified,
Six-car
Monorail!
What'd I say?
Ned Flanders: Monorail!
Lyle Lanley: What's it called?
Patty+Selma: Monorail!
Lyle Lanley: That's right! Monorail!
[crowd chants `Monorail' softly and rhythmically]
Miss Hoover: I hear those things are awfully loud...
Lyle Lanley: It glides as softly as a cloud.
Apu: Is there a chance the track could bend?
Lyle Lanley: Not on your life, my Hindu friend.
Barney: What about us brain-dead slobs?
Lyle Lanley: You'll be given cushy jobs.
Abe: Were you sent here by the devil?
Lyle Lanley: No, good sir, I'm on the level.
Wiggum: The ring came off my pudding can.
Lyle Lanley: Take my pen knife, my good man.
I swear it's Springfield's only choice...
Throw up your hands and raise your voice!
All: Monorail!
Lyle Lanley: What's it called?
All: Monorail!
Lyle Lanley: Once again...
All: Monorail!
Marge: But Main Street's still all cracked and broken...
Bart: Sorry, Mom, the mob has spoken!
All: Monorail!
Monorail!
Monorail!
[big finish]
Monorail!
Homer: Mono... D'oh! |

As it has always been, the save will be accessible here:
http://www.angelfire.com/ar3/mrmitc...temp/index.html
and the new save (Hot Springs 2005) has just been posted.
Fun fact for 2005:
Neither El Dorado nor Hot Springs are based on real life cities in pretty much any way. I just stole the names.
I'm trying to use mass transit kind of like Smiley did in East Central and for the densities that I've placed, the usage for my train stations has been promising.
When the city becomes big enough, I'll replace the trains with subways and monorails.
Neighbors: Check your borders. All of you but Atragon and Jonny should have a rail connection and an avenue connection, IIRC.
