....behaved like Nazis?

That's what I thought when seeing "King Arthur" yesterday. Actually I doubt that they cared much about "mixing bloodlines" when plundering and raping during the dark ages. It sounded too much like modern racism....

First I thought the movie not so bad, esp. since it tried to de-mystify the story, and they rather attempted to make it look more realistic.....but overall it was pretty weak IMO, despite some good scenes. I wonder how they came to the idea that the knights of the round table would be from Sarmatia...........

Tired of ads?

I think the Saxons had an unfair advantage in that they rode horses, while King Arthur had to use coconuts.

Facts in King Arthur:

(1) There are islands north of the European continental called the British Isles.

(2) The Romans were on the southern part of Briton but then they left.

(3) Saxons invaded.

Everything else in that movie is utter cr4p, and pretty bad cr4p at that.

the whole setting is wrong. No one acted like nazis. The nazis acted like Saxons if anything. It's not like nazis are THAT special. They are just the modern bastards. Plenty of them before that.

the patriot, starring the blasphemer, life of brian, most blasphemeous movie there is, and the submarine movie, well what it really is, is bunch of guys in leather getting into this big penis shaped vessel that dives.

I wonder if he wants to see these movies.

Personally my favourite bit was when they brought out the trebuchets. The appearance of the ninjas in the extended version was especially cool too.

I only take history lessons from movies. Those book writers never get anything right. It's all totally different from the movies!

Great recommendations, btw. However, saw them all a while ago.

Hey guess what? They're re-doing Pocahontas only under a different title and in live action. The good news is that the 10 year old native american princess is still incredibly hot and hittable! The bright side is that they didn't hire Dakota Fanning to play her.

If I had to watch trebouchets and ninjas in a King Arthur movie, I'd be blinded for the rest of my life.

He's being more than a little bit sarcastic. If you saw the Disney movie, Pocohantas was around 19 yrs old in the film, extremely hot and hittable. Whereas in real life she was just a 10 year-old girl.

To be fair there weren't actually any ninjas in the movie, although it's the kind of historical crap-up that you should expect in such a film.

The only thing I know about Sarmatia is the cataphract, a body armor for the knights and their horses. Rarely mentionned in movies. Therefore, if the knights weared a cataphract, they were REALLY from Sarmatia, and the movie is well documented.

Okay, okay. So I didn't get it.

At least not all of it.

But I did sense there was some hint of something to it.
