I had a look at old turn 2187.

The Spartan invasion force was hiding in fungus tile 2,72. 7 to 8 tiles from MP. We couldn't have stopped the invasion. They had a probe unit on board. So if they stole MMI they must have had infiltration from earlier or else had intelligence on us so that they just needed to steal the tech.

There was a probe cruiser between Drogue Narrows and Hackers' Strait as well, so they had 2 shots at us. Infiltration and Tech Steal.

And about stopping the invasion, if I had let that bomber scouting the northern Spartan base go south instead of north it might have been just in range to take out the Spartan transport. Damn am I angry at myself for that now.

That makes sense because I didn't think they had infiltrated us up to that stage. But I still wonder if/how they got intelligence about our defence forces in MP,

I think the same way we were checking Fort Sol. Flying a jet to the base.

I also think that number of units they had to kill in 2188 actually surprised them. Only in 2187 we stacked there more units:

1) AAA garrison
2) unity scout chopper
3) Police
4) BR-6
5) F-6
6) F-6

Then they could not use bombers before F-6 were taken.
So first rovers did the stuff. Then 2 bombers.
They could not bomb EM, we had there 2 F-6. Spartans probably ran out of fighters for this round. I think they probably were not able to take both MP and EM in 2188, simply coz of lack of rovers for that purpose.

Geo, you posted that "Sneak attack" text. Let us not speak too much here. Mayhem is TOP SECRET. Let them wonder about details of what is next. Anything we say might give them a hint, they could use for their benefit.

What we did alredy says a lot, so we may be bit more silent. After infiltration they know our forces ok.

And from the other side, I wonder if they say something, if they really failed to take Enigma Machine in 2188.
