Right.. this is a very well known phenomenon, kids in sports and parents. I'd say it's pretty normal.. you know.. parents wanting to live their dream through their kids, wanting their kid to do well.. if you're good in sports at early age, that's great.. you can have dreams, and you can stay out of trouble having your spare time occupied and who knows, if it's really that good, maybe millions and millions of dollars in earnings.
So yeah.. plus on top of that it's competitive, so parents just go crazier than the kids many times.
Yeah I feel that if kid doesn't feel like going to practice but takes the sport seriously enough, then stop babying, I mean don't force them physically but little pressure to go to practice. Kids sometimes feel like lazy and not going, but that' snot the way to go. Then again they shouldn't have to go always. AND then again, fi they really don't like it, they shouldn't go.
Sometimes too aggressive parents tend to kind of..ruin the fun side of it. When kid just wants to have fun, not have any pressure.. I mean why do you need pressure if you're 8 years old, doing some sports for fun, uh?
But yeah it's normal. Just keep the worst psychos away from my kids and it'll be OK.
My kids will be fighters. All of them. Even girls.
