I have not really considered AM after my dalliance with LB and subsequent acquaintance with Babylon.
I am already dazzled by the opportunities that have been offered.
At this point I am just trying to let the dust settle a little bit before moving forward.
If the game only moves forward as (6 teams*24 hours/team)* fudge factor for each turn I could possibly miss as little as 1 turn while waiting. Of course that fudge factor can be as little as 0.05 for turns done in an hour+ or as great as, err, 4 for unforseen circumstances.
Anyway, I feel that is best for everybody to be comfortable, particularly Lord N before I jump anywhere.
I definitely feel undeserving to be the center or cause of this much controversy. Although I am pleased to have created entertainment for the group!!

P.S. Hmm. Europe. I work with a division in Europe and we are 8 hours earlier than them. We hold teleconferences at 8 a.m. Oregon time for 4 p.m. there. Since I do, ahem, take breaks from work to watch this forum, as I am right now, I could theoretically chat via email while people did the hard work there. 4 p.m. here would be midnight there, which would be about finishing time for most of you, I guess.
P.P.S. How do discussions about things take place for this game? Do people use some kind of messaging, or emails or what?
P.P.S. Where can I go to post another 325 messages so that I can get my custom avatar? I'd like that!

Golden Bear,
Pick a team and join it. There will be complaints no matter what.
As for secret Babylonian plans that could be revealed by you going to Desolation Row, here they are.
Babylon seeks peace with all nations. Babylon wishes to wrest peace out of the hegemonic Anhk-Morpork.
Well that's pretty much it.

Looks like there is an unfortunate opening at Desolation Row.
Come back Moonbars!

so, this raises another problem
Aqua is not able to play regularly the turns of DR and moonbars has quit. This means there is no active player of their team.
What are going to do? There are 3 choices IMO
- contact the lurkers and ask them if someone would play the turns
- find poly member
- ask the admins to retire their civ
The last one is something I don't wish to do but it is the only way to keep the game played. This third choice should be delayed as much as possible because it will be a tragical moment in the game.

Oh ormuzd you treacherous Morporkian warmonger! Babylon has offered you peace too many times. Now when the fight gets to be too much, you turn your hegemonic eyes towards Desolation Row and call on your admins to fight the fight for you. I do not know of these "admins" that you speak of. I can only guess the meaning is lost in translation and you speak of your small gods. How much conceit do the hearts of Anhk-Morpork have that they tell the gods what to do? In Babylon we do not dare call upon the gods remove our enemies. Inanna guides us in love and war but we dare not tell her how to run the world.
Woe unto thee once mighty Ahnk-Morpork! Accept peace with the world, send us recompense for the cities and land that you pillaged, or meet your doom!
