Oh ormuzd you treacherous Morporkian warmonger! Babylon has offered you peace too many times. Now when the fight gets to be too much, you turn your hegemonic eyes towards Desolation Row and call on your admins to fight the fight for you. I do not know of these "admins" that you speak of. I can only guess the meaning is lost in translation and you speak of your small gods. How much conceit do the hearts of Anhk-Morpork have that they tell the gods what to do? In Babylon we do not dare call upon the gods remove our enemies. Inanna guides us in love and war but we dare not tell her how to run the world.
Woe unto thee once mighty Ahnk-Morpork! Accept peace with the world, send us recompense for the cities and land that you pillaged, or meet your doom! |
I'm sorry, I don't like this. This time I was seriously concerned about the future of the game and you post this. Really disappointing.
P.S. I'm glad there will be no problems after masuro's and Moonbars' posts

Oh stop it! Now you must be looking to be offended. It was an obviously in character jab at your team. I even made reference to a Disc World title.
I was however, serious about the peace offer that I made.

Hey, I think that folks may be judging Moonbars a little harshly. I believe that he started off by trying to defend my ability to join his team if I wanted to. He attempted to do this by pointing out that if I was privy to LB inside information, then so were lots of other folks. I'm not certain totally about how he linked in the AM and BOH representation in the LB forum, but I don't believe it was any actual intention to accuse people of cheating - more likely just to show that lots of folks have OPPORTUNITY to get inside scoop if there is any to be found.
I would like to see him remain in the game, personally. I hope that people won't take his moment of picque as a final word and will give him room to find his own way back.
MB, come on back!
Golden Bear, of the Babylonians (maybe?)

I am back, though my play times are limited.
I must say however that I continue to be disappointed by the behaviour in this game. Specifically, I remain annoyed at some of the hypocrits on the BOH team, who switch between "in character" and "out of character" as easily as the wind changes, strut their stuff around like little Lord Fauntleroys and then have the gall to abuse others. This continued abuse has cost me my most valuable team-mate, to the overall detriment of the game for various reasons. I must now endeavour to convince Moonbars to return.
Now go ahead and direct your abuse against me, for I care not. But I suspect the majority of players in this game agree with me. |
Aqua,
You want to call out the Horde here for the loss of Moonbars, most interesting.
Have you read the posts above on the matter?
The posts of where your valued team mate made statments that two teams were running DL's in the Lost Boys forum?
Then when he was asked to back this up with facts he then went on to claim he made no accusations and later announced he was leaving, yet Moonbars remains a member of the DR civ group.
It is known that Moonbars and Ruby had a quiet chat the other night on IM, and sorted this out quite calmly. You also have been notified of that fact.
It is the hope of the Horde that Moon will return, he has definitly been a personality in this game, and these forums.
If he has gone, then we mourn his loss.
Aqua, I accept that you will probably feel that this is me having a go at you, if so that be more your issue now than mine.
You state that you care not, why then do you post in such a way as to twist the facts? Moon was asked several times to provide facts / proof of his statements.
Flame on Aqua You have that skill

There are two people on the LB team list who've made 0 and 3 posts. My guess would be that one is a Horde or AM member, and that the other is DR.
and later..
I did not say that the Horde had access to the forum, I am saying that there are two funny accounts that are members, and I know one is DR, so the other is either AM or Horde. |
OK - after Rubychaser's comments I can't sit here and not post. Both Krill and Ruby have made similar comments that have upset Moonbars.
Above is what Moonbars posted. From reading this entire thread for the nth time, I fail to see where there is any accusation of cheating or even the hint of it from Moonbars. He was rightly trying to clean-up the 'confusion' that had occurred in the Lost Boys forum for Lord Nuclear. The confusion occurred when 1889 basically made the Lost Boys forum public. And all teams were invited as I understand, with maybe the implied exception of BOH. There is a clear and explicit invite in 1889's thread on the second page of this forum. (Can't recall the title).
A number of folks from different teams took 1889 up on his offer and joined the forum, although there was never much discussion per se. Many, including myself have since left. It was unclear as to who was left in the forum, and whether they were simply Lost Boy original members who never participated (all teams probably have a few of these) or whether they were members of other teams who have not left. (To be honest - I cannot figure out how to check other teams membership lists or I would have gone and looked myself.)
So, if you are ones who never joined the LB forum, or have not followed the last few months of history regarding it, I can see how you might possibly come to other conclusions. But this the second or third time I have explained it and Moonbars also tried, so please try and understand the situation.
And given that situation, my reading of Moonbars' comments is that they were very much in line and helpful - trying to clean up the confusion. He should have added that the 'other funny' account could also be a Babylonian or Euphorican. But, I see no accusation. Now he did make that guilty conscience reference, and to be honest, ' me thinks you do protest too much", as well. But I will put it down to some of the fractious behaviour of this forum as of late.
And I do believe that if Moonbars honestly thought there was DL involved, or truly 'irregular' behaviour, he would have used stronger and more direct words than he did. I would trust all of us would if that was ever suspected or discovered. It is one of the basic cornestones of demogame ethics, afterall.
That being said, I would humbly suggest that a simple apology is in order. And that everyone should stop being so quick to jump on each other.
Moonbars was and is a valuable member of this game, and I for one would like to see him back.
