After the brutal death of former Senator, Jar-Jar Binks, Master Yoda and the Jedi Council have suspended further council proceedings. Yoda appointed Mace Windu to conduct the investigation and to report his progress back to the council. Once in charge, Master Windu ordered all exits and entrances into the Jedi Temple to be sealed, so that no one could leave the scene without alerting the Jedi. Master Windu hopes that the killer did not escape during the intervening period, and that the confinement will allow him to ferret out the killer.
Once Master Windu locked down the temple, the remaining council met in secret to decide amongst themselves who must be responsible for the killings. While I strenously objected to the secrecy of the vote, since that would only arouse further suspicions among the skittish senators, I was overruled by the majority. We first discussed the influence of both Count Dooku and General Grevious inside the temple. Even though they are imprisoned, their abilities can still be sensed, especially given their close proximity with the other Jedi. As such, many of the Jedi who felt their influence insisted that action must be taken to ensure that future catastrophes would not occur. I objected strenously, arguing that the whole purpose of confining them is so that they would not be killed, and found only my padawan vigorously supporting me. The fact that they are dangerous, does not justify the Jedi abandoning their time-worn principles.
As the debate raged back and forth, the time came for the vote to be called, and to my surprise, I found myself among the small minority who did not fear the slight influence of the confined Sith over the Council. The Council selected General Grevious, as the most bitter foe, to be executed for his crimes against the Republic. At this verdict, I could do nothing more than shuffle away in shame of my compatriots who call themselves Jedi. One thing chilled me from my memories of Grevious' capitulation: 'I fear my allies moreso than my enemies. My enemies I can understand.'

Sadly, my fears have been confirmed. Rather than stemming the tide, the death of Grevious has seemed to have no effect, on the blight spreading over the Jedi Temple. This morning, one of the Jedi apprentices found a clone of Jango Fett dead at his post guarding the exit from the temple. He had been shot by a blaster, piercing his shoulder, instantaneously carving a hole through his flesh. Since the use of blasters has long been forbidden in the Jedi Temple, a search has been conducted to determine whether any of the recent visitors have smuggled a blaster.
The continued scrutiny of the Senators, to the exclusion of the Jedi Council has simmered some discontent, particularly with Padme Amidala. She has proven her worth to the Jedi Council, and now finds herself pawed like a common animal, a tremendous insult to her proud countenance. The only one who has not resented the intrusion has been the Chancellor, a sturdy pillar befitting his title. I find myself no nearer to drawing any conclusions other than the most frightening thought. There are two killers, not one.
