Standard -- nope?? I have NEVER heard of a map being tweaked to change the starting terrain of a faction if a restart happened. But then again usually a replacement picks up the game where the last player left off, for better or for worse

edit; do keep in mind i have come from other forums that view cheating so harshly and skepticly that the openess of smax to cheating would pretty much prevent actual play with so many preventations.

anyone that didnt read my rules post.heres the most important change dars suggested i post.

When I joined this forum I was amazed at how helpful and willing the other members were in setting up games for me, as well as teaching me the nuances of the game. A lot of people spent a lot of time helping me out, and I think it comes from us being a small, tight knit community. While we can be harsh in disciplining those we do catch cheating, why that is the exception, not the norm. I think you will find our community to be a little more mature and laid back than others.

My view is that there are so many possible cheats that its pretty senseless in general to worry about them. You have to assume people play fair.

Also since you are restarting, in fairness the new player should be told the surrounding terrain since after all the rest of you will have that benefit

It is a pretty laid back group and I think new people to this community get absorbed into the general culture. Note how civil the Smax forum is despite the fact that it is only intermittently moderated ( if a problem arises themods show up)

It also amuses me that the SMAX forum, especially recently has been beating many other 'poly forums for activity. Funny how our old game still has plenty left in it to discuss

I needed to make sure I was not playing the same game twice as well. After I opened it,closed it rechecked my save file, reopended save, it was a fresh start pbem.

I am thinking there is a hitch in the name to where we will get this message until we get past the last year we played

i was in pregame communication,i know that some of his pregame movements may not have been optimal for seenthro.it would be very unfair to keep on with the 2105 sav,frankly . and another reason,i had already sent a tech boosting morgan tech costs through the roof while untouching my own
