	Asher's upcoming dilemma: Google vs Microsoft Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

Wenn die Angaben stimmen, zeigt das einmal mehr die bereits oftmals kolportierte gegen Google gerichtete Stimmung im Hause Microsoft. Der Kampf ums Technologie-Know-how "Kill Google" Lucovsky setzte Ballmer im November letzten Jahres von seiner anstehenden Kündigung in Kenntnis. Daraufhin soll Ballmer gesagt haben: "Sagen sie mir nur, dass es nicht Google ist." Als Lucovsky jedoch angab, zu Google wechseln zu wollen, soll Ballmer zuerst den Stuhl geschmissen und anschließend Google-Chef Eric E. Schmidt mit unflätigen Worten bedacht haben. "I'm going to f***ing bury that guy, I have done it before, and I will do it again. I'm going to f***ing kill Google", sollen Ballmers Worte gewesen sein. Schmidt war vormals Chef bei Novell und arbeite für Sun Microsystems. Ballmer seinerseits streitet diese Aussagen ab und beschrieb die Erklärung in einer Stellungnahme am Freitag als "grobe Übertreibung" von dem was wirklich statt gefunden habe. Lucovsky Entscheidung zu gehen sei enttäuschend gewesen und er habe ihn gedrängt zu bleiben, seine Beschreibung von dem Treffen sei aber nicht korrekt, so Ballmer. "Google ist ein Kartenhaus" Laut Lucovsky soll Ballmer unter anderem mit den Worten "Googles ist keine echte Firma, das ist ein Kartenhaus" versucht haben, Überzeugungsarbeit zu leisten. Summary:
Lately some MS employees have quit their job and went to Google. Steve Ballmer is enraged and is said to have thrown a chair across his office when he heard Mark Lucovsky, last year was going to Google. This came up during a court inquiry of the process around Kai-Fu Lee who also went to Google.
Ballmer ofc denied to have said the bold parts, but it's true that he urged Lucovsky to stay.


Ballmer is probably enraged that Google doesn't want him and who knows, maybe we'll be using GoogleOS, 5 years from now.
I really wonder what Google needs all these specialists for. I mean all their software projects so far, are actually quite trivial and some even bought together (like maps, picasa,...).

Seriously, a hosted OS is not out of the picture. When Internet 2 comes online, (whenever the hell that is), bandwitdh limitations will begin to go away.


Sun Microsystems currently has the technology to host entire applications like SAP for businesses. This means businesses have no hardware, software, etc., installed locally. They have thin client workstations that hook up to the server at Sun's hosting facilities.

If anyone can do it, it's Google.
