I've made a "random" list of the 12 posters participating in the draft, and sent a copy of said list to Imran.

Ming will send out a random draft order (of numbers from 1-12), which will correspond to the list. That will determine the draft order.

I'm going to be in the city (Chicago). Leaving now. Will be back in afternoon.

I will be at my sister's apartment for a little bit so I will be able to check Poly, but won't be able to check my email.

I don't anticipate any problems or delays in terms of not being able to draft.

But just wanted to give you guys a heads up.

I assumed - you have to snake it, or the last people get hosed round after round.

Brodeur is a safe 1st pick - I think most of us would have done the same thing. You know he's gonna go in the top three, and there are just so many unknowns about this year...

True that... being the 1st pick (and not picking until the end of the 2nd) I had to pick a GK. I was looking at one other (I'm sure you can tell... he'll get picked soon enough... but I'll still keep it secret, just in case ).

Though I got my GK. I'll have the back to back picks in the end of 2nd, beginning of 3rd round to get some offensive players .

Cool.

Yeah, with 8 slots contributing to 4 skater stats and only 2 slots contributing to the 3 goalies stats, you've got to prioritize your backstoppers. It's the same in any pool and draft. Everyone has a different breaking point of when they'll go for one of their perceived top 3 or top 10 forwards.

I enjoy the subtle science of when to pick what, especially the first half dozen rounds.

Yep, it really is a strategy in fantasy drafts (which is why I like the draft almost as much as the season... maybe even more ). You have to see which position is scarce and where the points come from and have a plan (at least for 3 rounds) based on your position of drafting.

Interesting move. It'll be interesting to see how many goalies go in the first round.

Broduer is the man and he'll prove it this year with the weaker Devils defence.

I think you're right. There'll be a lot of scorers available at the end of the second round.

You have 14 players, any 4 of which will be on the Bench at any given time. 1 slot is available to put someone on IR if needed, so that you can pick up a 15th player.

What?

We have 2 C, 2 RW, 2 LF, 2 D, 2G STARTING. There are 4 people we pick on the bench when we want to switch it up, or if a player starts sucking.

We have 14 rounds.
