it has slowly crept northward for the projected path

maybe it wont effect us at all

We have just been officially put under a Hurricane Watch..not warning..

forcast 4-6 inches of rain starting tommorrow with winds of Hurricane force here possibly by Monday am

The storm has slowed and hopefully it wont get into the warm gulfstream too long

Hey gp I was just watching the news about the hurricane coming ur way> I hope that you stay safe. The thing that gets me is the number of folks on the beach when this thing is supposed to hit in the next day or so. I dont get it, does prepare for the hurricane mean going to the beach for a last minute swim and outing???

They pulled 3 people all so called "experioenced swimmers" from Topsail Beach waters yesterday

I mean we only have had a rip current warning for over a week now

We had crzy storm here too. One tent blew up in the air during it and some kid got in the middle of the storm. His eye was totally bruised and he had to go to hospital. Everyone in the area of the tents etc camping site thought al qaeda was attacking. It was helluav storm though, one kid got hurt and one tent was in the air. Made front lines for some time. FINLAND UBER ALLES!

Ill have to take ur word for that but i find something a bit off when i see adults with small children on the beach in the middle of a giant storm, i can understand the adults ignorance about big waves and crap but why put ur children in harms way?? This doesnt not and will not ever make sense to me

Now a Tropical storm with just heavy rains and wind and beach erosion maybe return to a minimal hurricane tommorrow

but still not the bad scenarios we been through recently

Tropical storm Maria will come my way in the next few hours, but she has calmed down a bit while passing the North Atlantic. Anyway, can't you Americans keep that nasty weather for yourself? We don't want it!
