I dont think I could get so drunk someone could take advantage of me, without having to assault me at least. But its still something I worry about
Ive got no problem with my gf drinking with friends, its not like I could make any reasonable objection to her socialising.

No my point with the Hitler was that 'everyone makes mistakes' is some kind of an excuse to being traitor.
And that booze makes you somehow free of responsibility. It changes nothing. It might lower your inhibitions, but it was still you who did it, and unless you take it upon yourself to think about it and not blame booze for your own actions, then you will never truly make the correct change in your life, which is to take responsibility. booze is still just an excuse. It was you who drunk it, it was you who whipped out your penis out, and most of all it was you who decided NOT to change the route after you first realized you fancied her in sexual way. Because that's still the decision a person makes, when they realize they just might want to bone someone. It's that moment when they need to get back to the real world and change that route. And the booze has nothing to do with it.
When you get drunk, and you basically sell out your friend for piece of meat and sex, that's the trade you are willing to make. No amount of intoxication will change it. You sold out. Period.
I'm not saying you're a bad person that can't change. I'm saying you're making excuses here for your own behaviour. It's in the past now so you can as well get over with it and what you are saying is that if you were out with my gf, and you are both drunk, if it was up to you, you might have sex with her. That is basically what you are saying. It STILL is a decision, even if the situation is dfferent. Quick **** vs. loyalty. Easy choice if you ask me. No one forces anyone to have sex while drunk, they choose to have sex.
I mean I can understand if there is some kind of passionate hug, or even kiss. THAT I can look aside and say, well,, but sex? No way.
Hey, I feel like killing people when drunk, but I still don't. ANd if I do, then it's not because I was drunk, ti was because I'm murdereous bastard.
AND if you know you can't control your penis while drunk, then indeed you shouldn't hang out with your friends gfs. There are people who can control themselves though. Like myself and my friends.

Right, right....
and it always takes two to tango if it's not forced situation, so if I had a gf who went out, got smashed and had sex with random dude, or whoever, well then she's not worth being with. If that's the kind of person she is, gets drunk and gives up the mud for anyone, then what is tha tperson? Slut. Period.
A slut that can change? Of course. It can be one time only, sure.
But I don't see why I should be some kind of rent-a-cop and follow her everywhere and restrict her freedom, because SHE MIGHT do something. If I'm with her, it means I trust her, and she can do what she wants as far as I'm concerned and partying and these things.
AND YES I would prolly call her at some point, to ask how she's doing and if there was anything funny that happened or something. But not so much to check if she's about to have sex with someone. If she does, then we're not together anymore. If she doesn't, then it's how it was supposed to be. I won't be some okind of obsessive nagging bastard just because I feel like it's my duty or right.

You're doing your friend a favor. I would rather know that my girlfriend was a whore before getting further involved. What better way to find that out than allow drunken revelry with a known man-slut. If nothing happens, then great, maybe she isn't going to **** every third leg on the street. And if she does, then dump her or exploit the opening (literally and figuratively).
Keeping the ***** under lock and key is not going to help anything. Let her do her thing, if you get burned, then move on with your friggin life.

Huh?
1. You said "Hitler made a mistake too."
You obviously are using the word "mistake" in a different sense than I do. Hitler didn't get drunk, start WWII, and kill a lot people, and then wake up in the morning and say... "ooh... that was a bad idea. I wish I had given it some thought". A "mistake" is by definition an excuse. A mistake is "An error or fault resulting from defective judgment, deficient knowledge, or carelessness." (websters.com). It is something that the actor did not intend to happen.
Doing something wilfully, with full command of one's faculties, and with time to deliberate, is NOT something that can be excused as a mistake.
2. You also said you weren't talking to me anymore. Change your mind?
quote: And that booze makes you somehow free of responsibility. |
Where did I say that? Booze doesn't make you less responsible, it just makes you more likely to do things you wouldn't normally do. Again, I think you're missing my point.
quote: then you will never truly make the correct change in your life, which is to take responsibility. |
Don't preach at me. You know nothing about me. When people - and for some reason they tend to be "people of faith" - start using words like "correct change in (my) life", I tune them out. I dare say there are quite a lot more things that need changing in your life than in mine, but I won't bore you by listing all of them.
quote: I'm not saying you're a bad person that can't change. |
See above. I, on the other hand, would go so far as to say that your judgmental side is going to make it pretty difficult to deal with real people in real-world situations.
quote: No one forces anyone to have sex while drunk, they choose to have sex. |
In extreme cases, people are forced into sex when they are drunk.
Anyway, it's not the point that they choose to have sex - the point is that they choose to have sex at a time when their decision making process is impaired.
quote:
I mean I can understand if there is some kind of passionate hug, or even kiss. THAT I can look aside and say, well,, but sex? No way. |
Now you're equivocating. Some people would consider that cheating. If sex is out, is it ok if your girlfriend gives me a hand job while drunk?
quote:
AND if you know you can't control your penis while drunk, then indeed you shouldn't hang out with your friends gfs. |
I generally don't get drunk one-on-one with my friends' girlfriends, nor do I buy them candlelit dinners, take them to strip joints, or invite them to sleep over. All those situations could lead to my friend(s) getting suspicious of my motives, and I wouldn't blame them.
I don't play golf in the rain either.

You didn't do it willfully? Oh.. so it was the booze who put your penis inside your friends gf? I see..
"Don't preach at me. You know nothing about me."
You bone your friends gfs. That's all I need to know.
"your judgmental side is going to make it pretty difficult to deal with real people in real-world situations."
Then again, you boned your friends gf. Sorry for being judgmental about that. That's the biggest betrayal you can do to your friend. See, I don't face those real life problems because I behave and take responsibility.
"the point is that they choose to have sex at a time when their decision making process is impaired."
And who got them into this impaired situation? And again, once the feeling was in the air, there was still decision making to be done, and CERTAINLY both of you thought at least for a second that maybe this isn't a good idea and your friend, thought about him for a second too. But that wasn't enough to stop you.
"Now you're equivocating. Some people would consider that cheating. If sex is out, is it ok if your girlfriend gives me a hand job while drunk?"
No, but somehow I feel like you'd have no problems receiving one. Traitors have less moral problems usually.
"All those situations could lead to my friend(s) getting suspicious of my motives, and I wouldn't blame them."
WOW I wonder why that would be.. I guess they'd be right, wouldn't they.
"So far, anyway. Or so you think."
And so far I haven't killed anyone while drunk either. I think this record will stay the same.

One last try (using your own example) since you clearly aren't getting it:
You say you would never kill anyone when drunk. Neither would I. In fact, I'd bet that very few people would kill someone while drunk.
Despite this, tens of thousands of people are killed by drunk drivers every year. I daresay that very few of those drivers meant to kill anyone - but due to their judgment, reflexes, and focus being impaired, they did. And I would also bet that 99% of those drivers regretted that they ever drove drunk.
News flash: PEOPLE DO THINGS THEY DON'T INTEND TO DO WHILE DRUNK. You might not ever want to kill someone while drunk, but if you get in your car and drive it, you might.
And another news flash: If you get drunk with a woman friend, or a friend's girlfriend, and she flirts or comes on to you - or you do the same with her, even jokingly - things can go a lot further than you intend. That's what happens when booze and hormones get together. And if you think that can't happen to you, then you're in the same kind of denial as the hundreds of thousands of people who insist that they're "ok to drive" when drunk.

Actually, that was the example I almost used.. drunk driving.
You won't see me driving drunk. Never ever. And if I see someone driving drunk, one of my friends trying to drive drunk, they're in world of **** soon getting their faces re-organized.
THIS IS the decision to make again once drunk. You know you are drunk. You need to get somewhere. DO you drive or not? YOu do know you are drunk.
Many do that yes. And when they do, drive over someone, what, it was a mistake, sorry, won't happen again? No. Then that person goes to hell. It was a decision to drive, even if drunk.
Are you trying to say when I say I will never drive that hey, maybe no yet, maybe some day?
The point is, THEY CHOSE TO DRIVE! No matter if they hit someone or not. You choose to go ahead and bone.
It's a decision. Even if you are drunk, don't make excuses, dude, those are ALL EXCUSES. What you're trying to do is put legimitacy into making excuses.
"You might not ever want to kill someone while drunk, but if you get in your car and drive it, you might."
Exactly. And that's why I don't drive drunk. EVER. Not even in the future. How do I know this? I'm not 5 years old.
"even jokingly - things can go a lot further than you intend."
Yeah, when you let them go further.
"then you're in the same kind of denial as the hundreds of thousands of people who insist that they're "ok to drive" when drunk.
"
Yeah with a difference that I don't drive drunk. I don't drive even if I had one beer. And that's when I'm not even close drunk. Let me get this straight so you understand. I do not drive even if I'm not drunk, but I drank some. That's it.
Don't try to push the line, that's what you're doing. YOu're saying that when your drunk and you push the line, you can go all 9 yards. DON'T push the line!
Stop making excuses, that's what they are.
And given that you know what you now know about yourself, that you might have sex with anyone while drunk, or get into a car, I suggest you stop drinking for good. Or drink more moderately. Ahh but when you start drinking, you easily drink more than you wanted to? Then stop drinking! You ran out of excuses, you know you can't control yourself. No excuses anymore.
