I think New Orleans has always been a special case. Let's just say that many whites in New Orleans haven't been "reconstructed." It sticks in my craw that New Orleans is pawning off all of its racial problems for somebody else to deal with. Most other parts of the South have tried to deal with the problems, but I don't sense that New Orleans gives a good goddamn.

Dan alot of folks in many different shelters in different states have stated they dont intend to return to NO. So from what i see its not just the folks in houston. At the same time i ask my self can you blame them for not wanting to return?? No i guess you cant, and for the record BK i seriously doubt its because texas is a nice place to live. Their decesions I am sure are based on the facts that they have lost everything and rather waste the time to go back and rebuild they can start new where they are. I do hope most of the displaced folks will decide to go back and rebuild, if only cause thats their home and memories.

In the taste of talking chicken i prefer churches for chicken, when i buy chicken i usually hit all three kfc popeyes and churches I hit churches for the chicken and fries, popeyes for the bisquits red beans and rice and kfc for the cole slaw I havent been to chick fil a in a while I wasnt sure they sold whole chicken pieces i thought it was just sandwhiches

True, but I would think that if you are planning to start a new life somewhere, that you must like Houston enough to want to try to make a new life.

And Texas is a nice place to live. Much warmer then in cold Canada

People need to realize that a lot of these people grew up in the ghetto, and the majority of people in the ghetto don't give a ****. If you do give a **** you probably grew up somewhere else and ended up there. That just is what it is. Hopefully there are people who realize this who are still willing to help, because these people are just as human as the rest of us, and the only way they will change is by seeing that there are people who care - especially the kids, because it's too late for a lot of the adult.

People are worth saving, but you have to cut them some slack and realize where they have been. A lot of white people don't understand how growing up in a ghetto affects people.

What about all the white people that grew up in a ghetto? Remember, the vast majority of the poor are white, and that includes who is in the ghetto. Of course, in the ghetto, you aren't white, you are Italian, or Jew, or Sicilian, or Russian, or Irish, or ---- Well, you get the idea.

There's good people and bad people in any sizable group of humans. You'll just hear about the bad ones quickly, and rarely, if ever, hear of the good ones. Something to keep in mind, I think.
