Ozzy II - Excellent, instruct their governors to submit to my personal command along with the other new settlements.

Ozzy II - Yes, they will be organized under the rule of the crown itself.
Domestic Advisor - But what of the Estate's General? The Lords only agreed to further expansion expecting further territories and fiefdoms for themselves.
Ozzy II - To hell with the Lords, arrogant middle men is all they are. Full of their own self-worth, they have no desire to rule this nation effectively, they only get in the way. The Bourbons come of a proud linieage I shall not submit my will before a cluster of snobbish men.
Domestic Advisor - That is how it has been for hundreds of years, your father and grandfather before that, the King ruled with the assistance of the Estates General.
Ozzy II - How dare the Estates General presume they know how to rule! My powers are ordanied from God, I alone have the mandate to rule this kingdom. Any who stand in my way will perish.
Domestic Advisor - Sire, they won't stand for this.
Ozzy II - Then they will perish.

It changes the game too much.
I vote we wait till then.
If Crusty, arii, Markus and finbar are free at this time on either of the next two sessions then I'd love to play that old very advanced game we had going last year.
Otherwise, would the remaining players from the Millenium game plus Nappy like to play a version of my 100x100 map game?
So, the time we are talking about is around 8/9pm(?) New York time Weds night.

CIVIL WAR OVER
Le Figaro looks at the events in a special issue perspective. Linking together past editions of this paper and its coverage of this historical event.
DAY 1
Reports from all over the kingdom indicate that King Ozzy II has dismissed the Estates General, and has assumed direct rule over the countryside. Establishing his central army and central rule from his court at Versailles King Ozzy II has claimed a divine right to rule.
Count Henri Gaudreau of Dijon, chief representative of the French Lords had this to say, "This is a dark day in the history of our nation. The shared power system that our nation has prospered under for centuries has been thrown out of the proverbial window. While claiming to have a divine right to rule, King Ozzy II is nothing more than a power hungry tyrant and we will not stand for it." The Dijon Count's outrage is shared by the rest of the kingdom's nobility.
King Ozzy explained his measure to consolidate power, "The Lords bicker over frivolous things, a country cannot be have such limitations imposed on the monarchy. My power is ordained by God himself, and no mortal can question that, to attempt to limit my power is blasphemous. All challengers to my throne and power are fighting God's will and shall be executed."
Day 19
The Civil War continues today, nearly three weeks since its start. Royal troops marched on the territory of Montpellier and have won a glorious victory for the crown. Duke Nathalie Corneau was captured for resisting and executed in Paris. He joins the fate of 14 other captured Lords and officials who have resisted Ozzy II's attempt to set up an absolute monarchy.
While virtual anarchy reigns in the nation most areas under the administration of either the crown or a local lord are functioning near normal. However research efforts have been retarded all over the kingdom. And with no true government in place no taxes can be collected. Much of the population continues to wait this event out.
Day 26
More victories for the crown. In preparation for his bid for absolute power King Ozzy apparently built up a large force of troops loyal to the crown only, using this surprise army the Bourbon king has been able to fight off the individual armies of France's nobility. Most other territories however acquiesced early and peacefully submitted themselves to direct rule from Paris. With pockets of resistance dwindling the people look for this to finally be over and for King Ozzy to unite his people once more.
Day 32
With only a few small villages yet holding out King Ozzy II has declared an end to the Civil War, and has declared himself victorious. "God has seen to it that human jealousies and struggles for power will not interfere with His grand plan for the glorious French people. My victories and ability to unite the nation has proven God's will. With a more efficient, centralized government my mandate to expand can truly be fulfilled now. Unit production and settler production has increased all over the Kingdom, the lands of Espana shall firmly be ours!"
DOMESTIC AFFAIRS

SPAIN UNDER FRENCH YOKE
Expansion has progressed nicely since the end to the Civil War, new provinces of Bayonne, Lille, Nantes, and Rennes have been established in the south. To aid colonization the government of France has commissioned a grand project of exploration to uncover the "Dark Peninsula" Intrepid French explorers Louis Jolliet and Jacques Marquette seeking a western passage through Espana followed the Ebro River west, only to discover its source far away from the western shore of Spain. Led by native Spanish guides the French duo have uncovered great secrets. The entire Pyrenees mountian range has been explored and soon the rest of the peninsula will be as well.
Fortunately Turkish threats over seizing Spain have proved to be a myth, as they are no where near the rightful French territory.
PROSPEROUS TRADE ESTABLISHED
Trade continues in force with French ally the British. Ship frequently cross the channel now carrying goods between the two economic and political allies. The French tariff rate of 20% has been lowered to the negligible rate of 5% for her allies. Limited trade between Italian allies has also occurred. All nations in the Triple Alliance have been pleased with their profits from these deals.
FOREIGN AFFAIRS

TRIPLE ALLIANCE STRONG
The Triple Alliance between Britain, Italy and France remains strong. Pledging military and economic support the three nations have assisted each other on many levels. Most recently engineers and scientists from the three nations have met in Rheims to assist their brethren in the advanced technological achievements of the day. All sides have walked away happy sharing secrets in exchange for others.
French General DeGaulle commented on the military purposes of the Alliance "It is true that such a strong union between nations may be perceived as a threat by other independent nations, but we caution them that we intend no harm in our actions. The Triple Alliance is for defensive purposes, and at this moment it would be irrational to start a war in Europe. Let the Austro-German alliance be warned that our peaceful nature will turn if threatened."
DEMOCRACY SWEEPS OVER CONTINENT
With the introduction of Democracy by the British, liberty craving masses from all over have begun uprisings. Revolutionaries have been successful in both Britain and Turkey, while revolutionaries inspired by the issuance of the Declaration of the Rights of Man in Budapest are in the midst of a revolution right now. Many factions fight for control over the country, and speculations abound as to who has the upper hand. All sides anticipate a short end to the fighting, however. Rumors of a strong Jacobin element in the revolutionaries have so far been unsubstantiated.
