Saddam - a science bug that you want to keep to yourself...... In case you had not realised it- the whole idea of a new Internet Ratings Thread was to avoid cheats.... Cheats will not be tolerated here Under any circumstances - ... If u are expecting to play us and exploit a bug in science then forget it - IF you mean settling a City with access to three of the same good for a megamonopoly then fine - But understand something - If you are expecting to cheat to try and beat the bug free players go away, go back to your sad little GL and leave us honest players alone... IF U DO decide to play us the game will be moderated, every turn saved and scrutinised, and you will be exposed as a Fraud if you try and cheat.

LOL blackice. That's what we do in the staff room. We think of various rules, but never follow them ourselves. And no caps is one of those self-imposed rules . Anyway, moderators are allowed to give a warning whenever they like . Going crazy, yes!
BTW, this is almost as popular as PBEM Ratings now. Look at 'views'.

Sorry Saddam, I don't remember specifically playing you. But I always let the people, that I am playing with, know how long I have to play before starting the game. So I am confused by your remark. I usually only can find time to play in 2 to 3 hour sessions, but I always let the other players know this before starting. Anyone that I have played can attest to that. And I don't have any trouble with reconvening at a later date. It seems that many GL'ers have an aversion to this, and want to finish the entire game (4 to 10 hours at least) in one sitting. I am too old to do that. My eyes and joints get too tired to last that long! (Just call me old man Quinns)

Saddam, I will play you, in fact what I think u need to know how good YOU HAVE to play when you do not use bugs... But understand you must not use any bugs..... Bugs of any description... The game will be unrated, I will not discuss the game outside the game, except to pass all save turns to a moderator. It may be advisable for the enjoyment to play a 4 player none cooperative game..... We are doing one of these with a GL VERY VERY high ranker right now, and hopefully after the game we can share ideas with him hoepfully we will learn something as will the Gl'er

Let me give you an analogy.... In Grand Prix Racing, many years ago, any electrical device was allowed on a car - Ground Effects, Traction Control, actice suspension, 6 WHEELS... Turbos.. etc etc .... as these 'enhancers' were removed the drivers learned to drive as fast without them by ability....

Ice started teaching me how to play on April 16th of this year.... The latest game we had (which has yet to conclude) Ice will beat me, but it was not easy, BUT he told me why he will beat me, what I was not doing...... The next game I will come a little closer to beating him...

There are two players I respect as 'Awesome' in CTP, Paul and Blackice, I am sure there are more, but I have yet to play them... Saddam you can make a choice, you can learn to play the natural game without any bugs, tricks or cheats against honest players.... who will chat and explain how they do things and make sure IF they beat you they tell you why, send you the saves, replay turns they think things went wrong.... LIKEWISE if you beat them they will want to know why ... so the next game will be that bit better.... Believe me, you will never enjoy losing, but you will enjoy the fact IF U DO lose you will automatically rematch, but know you are have a better chance next time..

The game will play sometime next week..... Players?? I say up to four..

Sure... I'm up for the challenge Gavrushka and Saddam! How about Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. Los Angeles time? That's 2:00 a.m. BST time (Gavrushka's favorite time of day ) We need one more then... (This will be an unrated game.) I can only play for 3 hours then, so if this is a problem, let me know, and I will let someone else take my place.

CTP INTERNET RATINGS GAME RESULTS

Game Name: Tech Tunnels
Game Number: 1
Participants: Blackice, Gavrushka.
Order of Finish: Blackice, Gavrushka.

Comments: It was a Tech game we both had good science and went down differing paths. Gavrushka with battleships and me with subs we went in slowly unsure of the waters ahead or the perils that await. Gavrushka struck first on my weak side trade routes going down right left and center. He became disappointed when he saw no results of his labors, routes reappeared and science stayed steady. He went back to his scientists and ordered a change in tech as did I. I struck next with a few minor hits to his trade and always the ship was never heard from again. Then a minor skirmish subs vs. battleships we both lost big time on that one. Then he heard the sound of the commie engine revving. Subs appearing faster than the tides, planes over head. Gavrushka realizing his scientist’s error ordered them shot on sight. Some of my spies where able to rescue a few but most were lost in the purge. On that night the planes flew past and the great Gavrushka was heard as he sailed from the land saying “Next time you commie blood sucker next time” Good game Gav As always a riot to play you and more and more of a challenge. I honestly thought you had me with this one but as we have discussed we have all been there done that. When it comes to tech choices who has not gone down the wrong road? Looking forward to our next kick at the cat er can. Can never say it enough you have to play this guy he is awesome and a total blast to play with, thanks again.
