Alright, I'll drop to 10 since it's my second round...
800 AD
Despite accusations of delusions of grandeur and a vote recount in every city in the Celtic nation, President Josefus II still wins the election by a whopping one vote. Thank goodness the Celtic people never discovered the technology of the Electoral College. Josefus II's first order of business is to deceive a way to deal with the Spanish invaders on the mainland, and a way to bring an end to the war with them.
810 AD
Celtic Scientists have discovered Astronomy. Josefus II decides for them to next pursue Chivalry to help give us a further militaristic edge over the Spanish.
820 AD
Horsemen from Tintagel finally drove off Spanish invaders on that side of the mainland. A new Musketeer unit in the frontier town of Dinas Powys alerts Josefus II that there is much more frontier land which should be settled with new cities.
By the frontier town of Durrow our people are met with by a Viking emissary. President Josefus II meets with their leader, Consul Gunnhild, and establishes peace between our nations.
Barbarians near Mrthyr! Barbarians near Merthyr! The people panic!
830 AD
The prosperous Celtic nation exceeds 6 million people in population!
President Josefus II kicks in military production as 4 cities gather together Crusaders for the war against the Spanish.
840 AD
The Musketeers of Merthyr have defended themselves bravely against the barbarian raiders.
850 AD
Thanks to our wondrous inventor Leonardo, all Horsemen units have been upgraded to Knights with the discovery of Chivalry by our scientists. The warmonger side of Josefus II decides that they should next research Metallurgy.
Of all the treachery! Our spies report that the Japanese and Spanish have signed a secret alliance against our nation. And then the Spanish have the gall to wish to speak with us. They demand Gunpowder and Josefus II refuses their demands. They ask for a cease-fire, and we appease them. And then they ask for peace! They who would align with others to defeat us asking for peace?! Well, we'll appease them for now and accept peace even though they still have a military unit on our land near Iona, but we'll keep our eyes on them and continue to build a military force to strike them down if they try to betray our peace.
860 AD
Now the English and Vikings are allying against us! Josefus II fears trouble brewing.
870 AD
An Explorer unit has been conscripted in Durrow to find out if these Vikings have cities on our western frontier land.
880 AD
To further our war efforts, Josefus II orders our second most productive city, Rhymney, to build Sun Tzu's War Academy to train our fighting units without the need of Barracks in every city.
890 AD
Our scientists have paid off--they present us with the technology of Metallurgy! Now we can build Cannons to fire at any enemy who presents themselves to us. President Josefus II follows his militaristic agenda by telling the scientists to research Conscription.
With only 120 Gold required to finish Adam Smith's Trading Co., Josefus II orders Carmarthen to rush build it. The savings this wonder will grant us will make up for the cost.
Our Explorers to the west have yet to find the Viking nation, but a Viking emissary has found them. Josefus II meets with them, and he sees that they too demand Gunpowder. That must be why all these other nations are allying against us, because of our advantage of Gunpowder over them. Well, we won't let them get the upper hand by giving this technology to the Vikings. Josefus II appeases them by giving them Invention.
900 AD
Rejoice! Adam Smith's Trading Co. is finished in Carmarthen! President Josefus II next orders the city to build Copernicus' Observatory. Although he knows from travelers' reports that other nations are already building this wonder, Josefus II feels that since Carmarthen is our most scientific city, we've got to take the chance. If we don't build it in time, Josefus II plans to switch over to the Statue of Liberty as a glorious beacon to our prosperity over the other nations of this world.
Alas the Presidency of Josefus II is over. The people have finally voted him out of office and have picked their next president.

920 - A Viking Explorer appears North of Dinas Powys, an Explorer is promptly sent out to track down its origins. A Trireme sets off to settle the island North of Iona. Two Crusaders are recruited, they will be the last of their generation.
930 - Rhayader founded on the island above Iona.
940 - Abergavenny founded North of Dinas Powys. The Viking settlement of Roskilde is discovered at the Northeastern most point of the same island.
960 - Dilemma strikes the empire... Word has it the Americans are about to complete their Observatory. Should we spend two-thirds of our cash to get it, and risk losing our War Academy instead? Or should we forfeit the Observatory and go straight for Isaac Newton's College, which will become available shortly? After serious council among the Republic's wise men, the money is scraped together. Copernicus will be happy.
Meanwhile the Trireme returned from newly settled lands sets out on a trade mission to Spain.
970 - Copernicus' Observatory is completed, production is promptly switched to Isaac Newton's College.
A Spanish invasion force (a Catapult and a Crusader) lands on the island of Valladolid, citizens are alarmed, but the mighty defenses reassure them there is nothing to be feared. The fragile peace process, however, may be at stake.
Indeed, a polite request to remove their troops is rudely rejected. The good news is, the hostile troops on the Celtic homeland are promptly destroyed. The bad news, the Japanese seem to have joined the Spanish war effort.
As a result of the hostilities, word goes the trade mission may be at stake. The Caravans may be sent out to the Celtic inland instead, perhaps helping in Wonder construction, and the ship used to convey an invasion force...
It has been decided, the Spanish must be punished for their misbehaviour. Caravans will be used to speed up the construction of Sun Tzu's War Academy, and a new trireme is in production. Moreover, Crusaders will shortly be upgraded to Dragoons. One short caveat however, the Spanish may be upgrading their defenses to Pikemen, so speed is required.
980 - The Spanish cavalry is defeated in an attack on Valladolid. A brave compartment of infantry defeats the remaining Spanish artillery.
990 - War preparations continue, Tintagel is chosen to be the the port to launch the invasion force. To the benefit of the war, a more competent general is appointed to lead the Celts in the oncoming years.

It is the year 990. A great leader from the Celtic past is summoned to lead the Celts in the war with the evil Spanish and Japanese.
990: Production in Tintagel changed to Diplomats, that we might persuade some of the cowardly Spanish to join our cause.
Our emissaries tell us the Vikings and Americans have swapped knowledge of Navigation for Medicine. Man feels that Navigation should be acquired for the Celts, so that our invasion fleets might travel faster and safer.
1000: Amid joyous birthday celebrations, Five Thousand Year Old Man is acclaimed President. Caerphilly completes walls. Our emissaries are rebuffed by the arrogant Americans, but the Vikings agree to swap Gunpowder for Navigation. Production in Rhymney changed from Sun Tzu to Magellan. Luxury rate dropped to 10% as most cities are maxed in size, already. Dinas Emrys founded.
Japanese have almost completed Magellan's Journey.
1010: Leadership discovered; our wise men are now learning Physics.
Rhymney rushes completion of Magellan, with citizens working round the clock.
1020: Rhondda completes a caravan and begins work on the Statue of Liberty. Rhymney completes Magellan. Japanese abandon their Magellan, while the Americans switch to Shakespeare's Theatre. Rhymney starts Caravan. Our emissaries request Medicine from the Vikings, but when they insist on Conscription in the trade, we demur. Knowing the Vikings, they'll blab the secret of Conscription all over the place if we tell them. Rhyader rush-builds riflemen as the Spanish are near.
1030: Rhayader completes Riflemen, starts Settlers. Caravel bearing Dragoons nears Rhayader, with plans to expel the Spanish.
1040: Physics learned; we're now researching Steam Engine. Swansea is experiencing unrest, so a Marketplace is rushed. Dragoons landed near Rhayader.
1050: Spanish Archers are routed when they attack our Dragoons. Marketplace completed in Swansea; Caravan started. Dragoons re-board Caravel, intended destination Cordoba.
Spanish learn Feudalism. FTYOM, the wise Celt leader, knows that these new 'Pikemen' will be no match for our Dragoons. Japanese acquire Feudalism from Spanish and both enemy nations begin Sun Tzu's War Academy.
1060: Some production orders changed from City Walls to Marketplaces, in light of the fact that stout Celt riflemen defend all Celt cities now. Celt invasion fleet sails towards Spanish lands. More Caravels, Diplomats, and Dragoons are ready to supplement this vanguard.
1070: Fleet approaches Cordoba.
Americans are almost finished Shakespeare's Theatre.
1080: Steam Engine discovered. We are now researching Magnetism, as our wise men apprise FTYOM that to research Railroad would be premature, unless we want to have to increase luxuries pretty soon
Spanish city of Cordoba is captured with no loss to the Celts! The overjoyed locals begin to form a Rifleman unit. Seville and Madrid are ripe for the plucking! Gold discovered on a small island near Cordoba, valued at 100coins.
Caravans reach Carmarthen to help complete Isaac Newton's College.
Japanese are almost finished Sun Tzu. Perhaps, muses FTYOM, this war college headed by the master strategist might even make the Japanese a WORTHY OPPONENT? Do we dare to dream...?
Spanish emissary approaches our Dragoons outside Cordoba... and requests a cease fire which our peace loving senate agrees to. Bah, sayeth FTYOM. ("Mr. President, we should have researched Fundamentalism before Magnetism", pipes up a wise man)
Americans build Shakespeare's Theatre. Vikings abandon their wonder construction.
1090: Amid much fanfare, the school year at Isaac Newton's College begins. Reports of bizarre hazing rituals begin to filter through the Celt kingdom. Carmarthen begins a University.
More Dragoons disembark at Cordoba. Caravel sails towards the mainlain to ferry Diplomats over to Cordoba. Another Caravel sails towards the Celt mainland with a load of coal from our island colonies.
Furious at being forced to make peace with the evil Spanish, Five Thousand Year Old Man retires to begin writing some religious tracts...
(Despite the bungled invasion, we are still well placed to sack Madrid and have a healthy war chest for bribes)
