Well you know what would happen if bin laden or saddam got a hold of Civ3. They'd take over the world.
Typical bureaucratic stupidity.

My latest e-mail to Infogrames (actually fourth today):
Hi!
I'm writing to you on the behalf of the Biscuit Tin Coalition,
that wants a worldwide release of Civ III LE.
We don't see the current treatment of non US customers
as fair, because many devoted Civilization series fans
has now been left without their long waited Civ III LE.
And without any good reason! There's currently no BXA
restrictions on releasing a PC game in Europe or inside
the EU zone. Is this just idiotic fumbling of Infogrames?
As a Nasdaq listed company, you should know that every
single dollar that can be earned in these tough times
is important, but apparently you're company is so stupid
that it doesn't see its own best. How can your investors be
pleased with you? Huh!
I demand that Infogrames would release the Civ III LE worldwide,
and not just in the US. Perhaps not under the name Civ III
Limited Edition, but as Civ III Collector's Edition, but that's
also good enough for the BTC and all the other "civers"
that are keen on getting an opportunity to buy the special
edition. I hope that you could at least think on my suggestion and
for God's sake finally respond to our inquiries. I warn you
that we will not stop the flood of e-mail until the LE is
available to all of us, or at least a worldwide LE release
date has been announced.
Your reply is expected and demanded!
Only cowards don't dare to face their customers!
Regards,
Rasmus Anderssén, Finland,
campaign manager of the BTC

The biscuit tin Civ3 LE is being sold outside the US. I just bought it in Hong Kong. Paid US$40. Luckily I cancelled my order through Chips and Bits. Buying it from them would have cost me about US$65.
So if you live outside the US, don't dispair. The biscuit tin edition could be coming to your local store.
