First of all it is impossible for me to play in two diplogames at once, it requires too much concentration and it would take away from my playing ability, posting ability, and general comfort in my schedule.

As far as Rasputin's contention that HOTW3 would occur on Fridays I have to disagree, I can't make fridays. Under my current work schedule Thursday and Saturday are the best days for that, so the game would have to commence there.

Thus if this game occurs on Thursday it will be occuring at the same time as HOTW3, which would make it impossible for people to play in both.

Therefore there's going to have to be a decision made here in one direction or another.

wel lactually running HOTW3 and "THE NEW DIPLO" on same night could be advantagous. All subs just hav eto keep the one night free... we have about 9 interested people so far maybe more... so that makes easily two games of 5 people possible and after the end game slowlness in HOTW2 perhaps 5 would be a good number...


I suggest running both games, allow Capo to design HOTW3 and take sign ups in the thread of that name, and let this game play too and let the intereested people sign here...

I was thinking, maybe we could play both games as HOTW3...

Think about it. Winning the game might not mean arriving on another planet, but each game could be the other game's "AC" if you know what I'm saying?

They could both be called HOTW3 just for sh*ts and giggles, and the way it goes is that let's say on the Earth they send a ship and it reaches the "Other Game's Planet" we'll just say that's what happened and it will be fun but not really effect anything else. So in essence we have an Earth game where your ship reaches AC, and an AC game where your ship reaches Earth.

Basically two five player games that compliment eachother in only that respect and in the fact that we'll call it HOTW3 (History of th Worlds 3). Get it?

I can make the mod for both games, and since I'd rather play in the Earth version I can create the map and starting locations without having any bias at all. So what do you guys think of that idea?

Based on what I've read and Deity's statements I think it would be wise to keep him out of the game.

This is, by the way, not the first case that Markusf has been accused of this stuff. I was in the New Mil Euro Game and he was also accused of the same things and not playing fairly. So I think I'll support Deity and say that I don't think Markus should be in the game either.

But regardless of this, I still think we should sort this stuff out because I have two modpacks to make as of right now, and I'd like to at last have a slight clue as to what I'm making. So let's get on it.

BTW, if we are playing an Earth-based diplogame I'm playing as the United States or the Celts.

Your memory seems to be a bit faulty. I sided with you and told curumber to get over it, because he did the exact same thing to me about 20 turns before.

I suggest the following....
After a reasonable interval the following is taken......

Production
Technology
Military Units

Each civ is rated 1st-7th.....first=1 pt. 7th=7pts.

Then every player rates all the other 6 players on the following.

Public Opinion - How much you "like" another civ. rate each civ 1st -6th. 1st = 1pt. 6th =6pts.

So there are 10 catigories........4 hard statistical ones, and 6 player opinion scores.

Worst possible 64
Average 37
Best Possible 10

Let someone who gets 25 or 20 points or less win.......
Its assumed then the player could......
A) Have any player he didn't like killed off
B) Controls considerable power and diplomatic means

It also promotes posting. What do you think?

The only problem is that the player opinions could be biased beyond the game itself but no worries

So we're playing 2 games? Well I fully intend to play in HOTW3 also.

If i'm being given reign over this game....whatever it's going to be, I see a chance to make an anti-lag wonder game, with lots of mods in it to reduce lag....etc........

But I don't see the point.....the only reason 2 games are being suggested is no one wants to confer they just want to throw the next game out there, so unless people WANT a 2nd game besides HOTW3......why should I sweat it out when no one cares about the effort? I'll just play HOTW3 that is unless there's genuine desire for a 2nd game.

actually it all sounds good Frank, th eonly thing i would suggest is to not only use the ranking s you have but to also add things like pollution (a diplo game should discourage mass pollution)

I also would perhpas like to add an option for outsiders to hav ea vote of eventual winner aqain using your point system...

Um, okay let's get some things in the clear here. If there are going to be two games is Fank "Dangime" Johnson making the modpack for the random world game? Or what's going on.

I am going to make the HOTW3 modpack, which will occur on a large world map, I'm going to change it to make settling harder. I a going to need to know who everyone is going to be. NO AMERICAN TRIBES ALLOWED. I am going to be either the Celts (probably the "European" Celts, who's capital was La Tene, which is in southern France) or Khalistan (the Sikh nation) located in Punjab/NW India. My decision will be made relatively soon. So everyone please put in their tribes. Suggest two just in case actually, here's how I'm probably going to split it up... keep in mind there must be sufficient space.

Europe (2 tribes max)
Africa (3 tribes max)
Asia (4 tribes max, includes Middle East and India)
Australia (1 tribe)

Keep in mind "isles" don't count, therefore you could have two tribes in Europe and one in Britain, or four in Asia and one in Japan. Greenland, North America, South America and the American islands will have NO tribes on them. There's a special surprise there.

There are only five remaining slots, there are going to be six total tribes in this game, so make haste and select your nation. I'll probably go with the celts.

Each nation will begin with two settlers, one in the capital area and another for their second city.

Uh, that is HOTW3 information. I understand its all spread around the forums but there is so much chaos in the Diplogaming community right now that its perfectly fine, if not acceptable.

Anyway, hurry up. Five remaining tribes left to be filled, please put two just in case we can't accomodate your suggested tribe.

No this game will be entirely seperate. In fact we might change the date it is occuring on if you beleive it is in the way of HOTW3. Its going to be on a world map, but a custom made medium one. I'll be leaving the modding of HOTW3 to you.

Maybe I should make a new thread for it. Capo, I'm assuming you want to keep HOTW3 on thursdays. I don't really care what day the game is on, if there are serveral people available. Someone thought having 2 diplo games on the same night was good, but I think that just shrinks the available number of subs/players to the point where one game or the other might be played every week.

I need to see who would want to play and when. Basicly I want to play in HOTW3, which is my motivation to move this game off of thursday, but if enough people want to play this game on thursday.

Plus, its semesters end here at college and I will be moving soon, althought it may be a bad idea to be a driving force behind a game when I'm moving I still want to play, and do whatever to play.

1. The Western Regions: Buddhist kingdoms of Central Asia/NW India, in fun places like Gandhara, Turfan, Kucha, Kashi, etc. Would use the indians or the Chinese as the base populace.
