Awesome heads! Maybe I'm strange, but hows about a Max Headroom head? The first thing I noticed in diplomacy was the resemblance to old Max. It seems somehow appropriate.

How about replacing the stanard leaders of the ancient Civs (babylons, Greece, etc.) with a picture or something to better match the others? It may be hard to find 8 or so different pictures of Hammurabi though

To the families of the British or American special forces, if they lose their loved ones in Afghanistan, they lost them in part of a glorified police action, no more a "war" than the one in Somalia where American servicemen were killed by warlords armed with rocket launchers. The ~5K people who died on 9.11 died in a terrorist action, a roughly three-hour long orchestrated attempt by a small amount of people to inflict terror, death, and suffering amongst a large amount of people.

Kinda like how small groups of American and British warplanes cause terror, death, and suffering amongst a large amount of people. But, of course, that's what the Afghani people get for being in Afghanistan, right?

If this 'war' is young in the same manner as WWII, who will we be fighting next year, when we've thrown the Taliban out of Afghanistan? Iraq? Saudi Arabia? Will we go help the Russians blow up Chechnya? There's a whole lot of countries out there that MIGHT just have some citizens who are hostile to America, so we might as well bomb everybody, just to be sure.

As for the la comfort comment, ignoring the fact that most of the people who died aboard the airplanes were going to la and thus for all you know loved ones of mine coulda been amongst those that perished (tho this is not the case), as an American citizen, I felt that the indiscriminate killing of thousands of Americas was, in a way, an attack on all of us, from AK to WY. And as much as I want to see those responsible suffer, carpetbombing another country to bring a small group of people to justice seems like a morally repugnant exericse. I guess it's the old question of do the ends justify the means? or, in Civ-terms,

If Shaka had to kill 10 workers in Egypt to kill 1 Archer in Thebes, would he still have a Spotless reputation?

Whose side are you on, ****?
Don't you realise that the Taliban are enemies of the US and Britain because they refused to hand over Bin Laden? He is not a "freedom fighter" or "militant" he is a plain ar**hole of a terrorist. Why do you think that, because we attacked the Taliban for not handing over Bin Laden we are going to attack all Islamic States?

As a person who thought the Taliban was a bad idea BEFORE this entire 'war' began, I guess I'm not on America's side, because we continued to aid the Taliban in taking control of Afghanistan until mere months ago, despite their attitudes towards women, the role of warped fundamentalists in their government, their willingness to continue poverty in their country, and giving asylum to Osama bin Laden.

However, our relationship with the country began to go on the sour side when negotiations with the Taliban over access to their land to build an oil pipeline continued to go fruitless. American officials reportedly made statements to the effect of "we could install a more Western-friendly govt."

And 9/11 gave us an excuse to.

Despite whatever good intentions they might have, the American and British troops fighting in Afghanistan are fighting for the betterment of oil. They are fighting so that Afghanistan and Pakistan can get the riches of Caspian Sea oil, and through them our own oil-hungry billionaires.

I don't think we're going to attack all Islamic States. I think that's part of the problem in this 'war'. If we pride ourselves in toppling an autocratic anti-American regime in Afghan., we should NOT look the other way while the same sort of jihad-happy govts exist in Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Egypt....

But...then again, I'm such a fool that I value a human life over a barrel of fossil fuel. So never mind.

I know i really shouldn't be descending to your level, but who can resist a good mud slinging contest eh ...

If those kind of editions should be made by putting Clinton in the game, then the George W Bush download should include a Mod which automatically doubles pollution, automatically plunges your civ's treasury into deficits, Also more than half of your population should become unhappy to reflect the opinions of the majority of Americans who in fact voted for George W’s opponent in the election.

But on the plus side, at least with George W. as a leader, the Americans in Civ 3 should be able to abrogate any international treaties they want without repercussions (well besides pissing off the whole rest of the world)

But anyway, the Tony Blair leader animation is quite good , i give it a thumbs up

As a German I say it is OK for all who want it to take Hitler as the german Leaderhead. War, and thats an american lesson, doesen't enjoy, unless u got a fight against the evil - even better achis of evil. I say that out of sarcasm. But then for all. Isn't there an american Leader that is especially responsebal for Hundretthousands of killed and tourtured Indians and Afroamericans - may be I got some fun in wiping out the American Civ lead by him. (don't take that personal)
So my suggestion: for every Civ a good and an evil leader.

Oh I got just an idea. There is a group in Germany that is especialy grateful to u - it's the Neonazis. They will probebly try to get with their beloved idiot the dominance of the world. But may be they decrease that way their agressions in reality.

Except them there is no one yearning to get him back. He was the worst we got ever from the Austrians. He was never patiotic, he preffered a light-haired blue-eyed Icelandian to a black-haired and brown-eyed Bavarian. His ideology was race not nation.

Germany:
good: Barbarossa (middleage emperor), Adenauer (first Chancelor of New-Germany layed the fundament of the political and economical success), Willy Brandt (a belouved chancelor, worked on better relatinship to poland and Israel)
evil: Hitler (Austrianbut leader(Fuehrer) of Germany from 1933-1945 the worst time in german history

France:
good: Mitterand,
evil: Napoleon ( lead Europe in a continent-wide war with millions of deads most in Germany),Louis XIV (created oppositions of Germany and France up to the WWII)

Romans/Italy:
good: Constantine (brought Christianity), Deocletian aformer Soldier he lead only a few wars, but was a genius of administration)
evil: Moussolini(inventor of fashism), Ceasar( lead PR-wars in Gallia and Germania)

England:
good: Arthus (was the last), boot-licking-Blair is OK,too
evil: who was the leader during the WOI again, and ask the Irish about William, Thatcher (just because of her evil mind)

Russia:
good: Peter the Great, Gorbatscew
evil: Stalin, Ivan (but his time was just that grosny)

Zulu:
good: Mandela (OK he is no origin-Zulu, but that lays to day in his country and Stalin was an Georgian, and no Russian, too)
good/evil: Shaka (guess he got both aspects like Ivan)

Babylonia:
good: Assurbanipal (was Assyrian, but their are Assyrian Cities in the bab. empire either), Hammurabi
evil: who lead again the Jews out of Israel, Esarhaddon (both bible-cenristic),

Persia:
good: Cyros, Cambyses(sp?), (they formed a tolerant country)
evil: Xerxes(greek-centristic)(got a hesitating mind)

China:
good: all Leaders that freed the Chinese from occupation
evil: Mao Tse Tung, Kai-Shek none of them is better

Japan: no idea, but I'm open for suggestions

Egyt:
good: Tutankhamu, Akhenaten (the coolest of all ancient leaders)
evil: Ramses of what number did exspell the Israelites (bible-cenristic),

India:
good: Ghandi,
evil: no idea (not Vajpayee he is just defending)

Iroqois/Atstecs: no idea

America:
good: your suggestion
evil: your suggestion

Greece:
good: Phillip II. Alexander the Great, Alcibiades (only General but genial)
evil: Pericles

Especialy in the ancient times it is difficult to see wether a leader is evil or good or inbetween

I LOVE AMERICA AND THEIR CULTURE ESPECIALY THINGS OF GERMAN ORIGIN:
BUT THE FOREIGN POLICY IS LESS GOOD

Well, I never resort to picking on what's good and evil, because I don't believe in absolutes, and hell even the most "evil" think that THEY are the good guys, it's all perseption. But for the sake of argument and to keep it easy I roll with this one.

America Good: Washington, Clinton, FDR, Jefferson.
America "evil": Bush , Nixon , Custer (ok never a president but OH what an idiot!)

I think Churchill should be in with the english too

May be Hitler thought he was good may be super-good (as a super-human). And I think he is objectivly evil (super-evil in his ideology). And that is right about a lot of other guyes.
But u r right that it is not easy to cathegorize a lot of leader in good and evil.
But what is objectivity: hasn't Kastro done well in free his country from foreign dominace and prostitution. But I agree when be said he got negativ aspects as well.

(wrote spelling of Kastro wrong not to use the net-keyword)

hitler was megalomaniac, no doubt. the nazis enjoyed their cruelty.

see the hakenkreuz/swastika as example. the ancient original was a symbol of life, good fortune and light.

but the one used by the nazis was mirrored, like goth youths praying to satan etc doing it with the christians cross.

As usual, it depends on which side you are on. For us, he is a militant/terrorist/scum/evil. For the average hard line Muslim, he is a freedom fighter

Gore in '04, hmmmm. Where was he when Sudan offered to turn over Bin Laden? Those who would lead must dare to speak out for what's right, even if it opposes their bosses views. In all fairness, perhaps he didn't know. Perhaps he wasn't part of that briefing. I wouldn't be surprised if Clinton kept him in the dark. Willie rarely shared the credit when it mattered most. I'll give Gore credit for doing damage control behind such a scalawag of a boss.
