And what other leader would you rather associate Civ3 with? Clinton? Yeah, if you did that make sure to edit the game so all female rulers and the Chinese get "special" discounts with free tech's and other "favors" all the time..

Heh, also raise the unhappiness quotent for your Civ to represent how much a lot of the US couldn't stand him personally.

You know, when I saw this topic, right off the bat I figured it would turn into a political flame war.

Why can't people leave that behind if it doesn't pertain to the game? If you are talking about how to model various government types, there is legitimate room for debate on the merits of different political systems and how they might appear in the game. However, if someone creates a mod to add a leader and you dislike that leader for ideological reasons, can't you just not use it instead of starting a mud-slinging contest?

I concur....and....am....thus holding my tongue and just gonna comment on the mod...Um....good visual work. A modern-day leaders pack would be a really nice visual treat, and since our 43rd President is Bush 2, this is a small step towards realizing this potential goal.

Does anyone have the ability to turn the graphics cartoonish like the current leaders?

I wouldn't mind changing the leaders out, but having a photo-realistic one mixed with cartoons would be annoying and inflict pain on my sense of continuity.

Nah... Bush gets a thumbs up by me...

Of course, if you wan't to see something REALLY controversial...

Let's see somebody make an animated Hitler head for Germany.

Who's going to trade with that noggin?

Of course, just looking across the negotian tables at him might start a few wars!

Of course, nobody would actually do that, because THAT would be controversial!

it's terrbile that people can talk bad about bush. hopefully they are foreign and far away in a smelly hole. but in any case the FBI is watching

and I wouldn't mind a hitler portrait. I find bismark either smiles to much (and it's an ugly smile don't you think) or is always frowning. Add to the fact that he's probably the cheapest sob pff.. Lets see hitler! it will be fun bombing his psychotic behind anyway

If that comes around in a mod, be sure to get a mod to add the fascist government!

While someone's at it, change the panzer's animated icon to a Panther or Tiger tank or something.

Speaking of whacko leaders, and since Hitler's on the mention board here, how about Josef Stalin? Someone just as whacked as Adolf was but had only one good trait. He was on the Allied side of WWII.

Leaders Graphics Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

Great work on Bush!
For ancient times, he could wear Celtic garb. Many Texans are Scots-Irish by descent; I know, because I'm one of them.
For industrial age, he would never wear a top hat...rather, a cowboy hat with handlebar moustache!
As to foreigners who dislike him, it's your right to...and I stand ready to die on foreign shores protecting your freedom to do so. But I advise a little discretion on these boards....after all, you are representing your country in the view voting Americans. Maybe next time it will be your country that needs a little help. Odds are, we're already helping your nation in some way, financially or otherwise.
As to Americans...if you're still sore over the election, just remember -- almost 1 million service men and women chewed holes through their lips for eight years maintaining a stoic silence out of respect for their Commander in Chief, while their comrades were sent as fodder to places like Mogadishu. Now its your turn to prove your "respect for the presidency." This war isn't on a computer simulation, though I wish that it was. It's real; roll up your sleeves or get out of the way.
'Nough said.

Hear, hear. I completely agree. But.... Bush is orginally from Connecticut, so he's technically a New Englander.
As for the Clinton leader, don't forget to change the specs of the democracy so your military and fortresses are randomly deleted. Oh man, I can imagine the replies to follow.

Hitler Heads Support Apolyton

Well, if Hitler gets added as an animated head for Germany, it would certainly find a Fascist Patch attachment option!

I also agree that Stalin would be a fine addition (after all, he was in Civ1, wasn't he?).

Let's get Stalin added too, then you can have Commie Stalin vs Fascist Hitler... it would make for an interesting game!

Heck, while you're at it, you could just make a "WWII" leader-head pack... Winston Churchill for England, FDR for America, Hirihito or Tojo for Japan, etc, etc...

...first off, there is no war, in a Civilization-sense or a "let's go fight some ____ and come home as heroes". Despite whatever comparisons can be made to Pearl Harbor, September 12th was not a day in which our President went before Congress to announce the beginning of a war against another sovereign nation. And, to the best of my knowledge, this never happened. Instead, Mr. Bush declared a war on "terrorism and those who support it". 99.999% of Americans have been fighting this "war" for their entire lives, simply by being decent human beings.

HOWEVER, at the same time, many of these same people have been helping the enemy, through the seemingly-innocent process of supporting the oil industry. Pieces of every dollar that goes to ExxonMobil, British Petroleum, or anyone who deals with the Middle East finds its way to Saudi millionaires, who themselves fund the quasi-religious jihad against the First World.

The very man who declared a war on those who support terrorism...has supported terrorism, through
`the passive manner I just described
`being personally involved in selling off several oil companies back during his Texas oilman days
`allowing his dad's boss to equip the Mujahedin during the 80s.

Though, I guess, all of us were responsible for the last point, but still, I guess the point I'm trying to put across is, I have been and always will be against terrorism, as are almost all Americans. However, I can not, with a clear conscience, support the indiscriminate bombing of people in Afghanistan under the orders of a man who probably did not win Florida, and is only president because of ideological concerns amongst the Supreme Court.
