Gianny IS gay, it's FACT. He ALWAYS WILL BE GAY. He can't deal with it, that's the root of the problem.
Which is why he should be perma-banned. If he can't deal with it, he shouldn't be in a forum with gay posters, at all. He obviously doesn't have the brains to do it himself, so maybe somebody should give him a little push. Trust me, it'll make his life better.

Yeah of course she did. I have got absolutely nothing against homosexuals, and i don't agree with a single word that Giancarlo writes, but that doesn't mean people should attack him when he can't reply. Flame him all you want for all I care when he's not banned, but now it just looks immature, as though you were wishing you were around last night for a piece of the action.

Since even this thread has resulted in a US vs EU debate (and it isn't even my doing!) I just have to step in. (ahem  )
Despite me being labeled as an anti-American bigot and a close minded European nationalist (if there is such a creature), I have absolutely no objection against having (only) American mods. If a mod is qualified to do his job or not shouldn't and doesn't depend on his nationality, not even if they are "ignorant and stupid yanks". 
And I do agree with some of the posters here that PH's ban is way to harsh compared to giani's ban, though I fully understand our mod's reasoning. It wasn't the particular comment he made, or his taunting of giani on this specific occasion. I, among others, have done is so many times before without getting banned, and it seems that this time it was just one time too many for our mods, and the person who made the comments got banned.
The real question is, and this only the admins can answer, is making a joking comment about someone's sexual preferences a bannable offense? Only the owners of the site and forums can answer this one, and here, perhaps, we do see a cultural conflict between the USA and Europe. Here it is extremely common to joke about one's (or your own) sexual preferences. In the US people immediatly get offended, or think you are serious (when joking about yourself). It's a very touchy subject in a more conservative country like the USA.
So as I said, the only solution is an answer from the admins. And since one is european I doubt the britons here will complain much about it. 
Just my 2 eurocents worth.

You guys hit on exactly why a Brit mod is a bad idea, mainly because most of you brits can't tell what is offensive and what isn't.
This isn't a "pub", it's a world wide message board, and what you find inoffensive is irrelivant, it must be tailored to all.
So far, in over a year here, and Spinky knows this, I have seen young brit posters have no problem with:
Rape
Murder
Suicide
Women being trampled on sexually
And that is just the last few months, and all in the name of "fun".
I hear stupid sh1t like "if you don't like it, don't read it", even though it breaks the rules here and always gets blitzed, most of you guys are just to irresoncible to handle what is right and what is wrong.
Quite frankly, most of the younger Brit posters (not all) lack both Class and tact, and thus, are totally unsuitable to moderate.
I normally care not about who moderates, but your incessent whining for a Brit mod brings this out.
Untill you show more tact and maturity, you will never moderate this board, and ranting about who was banned isn't going to change it.
Provost is a perfect example, well educated, well liked, mid 20s, always pushing for moderation staus here, yet engaged in gay baiting a poster, even though he was aware that that the powers that be had enough of Giancarlo trolling. That isn't the way to moderate, that is just looking for a fight.
Rules exisit for a reason, constantly railing when someone gets a ban (deserved, in this case) because you don't agree with it is your right, but does nothing to promote the idea that one of you kids should moderate.
This place doesn't need a moderator who thinks telling someone to choke on seamen is ok, if it's done in context of "jokes".
Because you fail to see that, proves my point exactly.
I'm sorry, but that is the plain truth.

The one thing you will always get from me is what I really think, not Bull sh1t hidden in flowery phrases, or attempts to be charming.
On this board, the only Brit posters who I would think could moderate East Street Trader and *end is forever*, and that is it.
Doesn't mean I don't like the Brits (I am half a one, after all), but do you honestly believe someone like Spink could be fair an objective, when he spends half his time trying to break the rules "to see what he can get away with" attitude?
Be honest, do you think the way Provost behaved is correct, Giancarlo notwithstanding?
I'm completely aware that the boy is an imbecile, so I simply ignore him, others delight in his rants and bait him.
Not the way to do things.
