Although I already knew the answer to my own question I wanted to see what your opinion on the matter was, and again I say opinion because I know alot of people that do a little extra for their company here and there, and web design happens to be one of them. So yes, there are noted accounts of free web design but none that you would know of personally. It is not only in my opinion that their web page is designed and updated for free by one of their employees (or two) but they should also be giving us progress indicators/updates whether they like it or not. Otherwise we go back into the "show respect - get respect" argument, and by them not telling us what they're working on simply because they don't want to generate false hopes or create hassles in the already flustered marketplace is being ethicly rude and disrespectful toward the consumer. When there is a problem with the product and we don't get answers, then that is bad business (as you've been told a million times) simple as that.

No I don't beleive any company is out to get their consumers. And yes I do agree that it is a company standard for marketing to behave in such an odd proffesionalism. But your missing the point, we don't like that policy/standard therefor we dispute it, what good would debate or negotiations be if everyone lied down and said okay go ahead sue my pants off. You've got to expect that the consumers (when displeased) will also behave aggressively - its consumer policy now.

Negative criticism, which encompasses most of your posts is hardly ever described as 'thoughful commentary'. Usually thats just called criticism or flaming on these boards.
This thread has also migrated from a question about Firaxis and their answers to one on the usefulness of stacked movement, so I may as well chime in on that issue. It would be handy to have in some situations but is not make or break for me. I never Automate workers, so no advantage there. I have never had 500 units so unit movement tedium is rarely an issue. It is possible to win without much in the way of combat, I have done it and so have others so it is not essential for combat and the game can be won without it. I believe this was the intention of Armies. There is a general movement away from the warmongering side of Civ in this iteration, no stacked movement and corruption are logical steps in forcing strategies other than war. Like OneInTen said one persons flaw is another's feature.

Why bring the subject up if you had no intention of answering any questions about it? You raised my expectations only to squash them moments later. How could you?

Well we were having intelligent discussions until you and your little gang of friends decided to come in here and begin the spam attack. I said it before and I'll say it again, if you don't like the opinions and citicism then don't read it. Ming, it's obvious that he can't win any arguments in here so he'd rather spam it up so that you close the whole thread down, essentially taking us all down with him! I admit I contributed to thier imature level but I now have better things to do than waste keystrokes on the un-productive. Thanks for your assistance Ming.

Yeah but debates and criticism are attempts to improve the situation as well as the game. When you guys come in here and blab off about how much you like the game, all your trying to do is supress the criticism by measily attempting to overpower us with praise of it. If you want to praise it, go praise it with other appraisilists or fanboys, people who have something in common with you! Don't come in here and banter off about how good the game is - in essence gloating over us and supressing our issues, because when you supress something it eventually bursts. Let the critics talk with critics, and the fanboys with the fanboys. To mix the two would only suggest - trouble makers and dectracting trolls. We don't want to hear you and you don't want to hear us, so select the posts that you agree with and reply to them. But don't interfere with the critics and their goals. We obviously have more to gain, since you guys are already "happy". We on the other hand are "not happy" let us be.

First, I don't see what you see - again the 'pissing contest' "there are more poeple that like the game than hate it" crap. I've taken poll and it looks clearly obvious there is a hell of alot more negativity toward Civ3 than there is posativity - ask Ming he'll tell you. But in the least you can count can't you?

Let's go through this one more time "I've merely stated what I feel are the flaws in other people's arguments" If this is true then you just kicked yourself in the ass, because you mentioned to me that "flaws" are not "facts" only "opinions" so what you're really saying is that since your opinion doesn't jive with someone else's you have the right to argue with them and cut them down (or attempt to). And the only thing that I find "too bad" is your lack of respect for the fan community which obviously has serious issues with this game product, and you stand directly in defiance of that. As far as I'm concerned you're fully exposed now and a large target! And we'll see if you make the grade!
