	Plans to erect 250-ft. crucifix Increase the size of your Attachments

Tom Monaghan, founder of Domino's Pizza ([COMICBOOKGUY] Worst pizza ever! [/COMICBOOKGUY]), has plans to erect a 250 foot tall crucifix--one mile from my home. I am utterly speechless at his hubris. By way of comparasion, 250 feet is about the height of the Statue of Liberty, not counting the raised torch. Needless to say, this would be the world's largest crucifix. In Ann Arbor. Of all the places on Earth--Ann Arbor. There goes the neighborhood.

A friend of mine suggested we raise money to build a 300 foot tall Darwin Fish to face the crucifix. My finacee is threating to throw herself off the top of the crucifix.

This is the dumbest idea I've ever heard. The thing wouldn't last one week before being vandalized--and with good reason.

Monaghan started up a "Catholic law school" in Ann Arbor a few years ago, called Ave Maria. A law school with a "Catholic perspective", whatever that means. Last I heard, it still hasn't been accredited. But does anyone remember Robert Bork? Supreme Court nominee from the 80s, wasn't confirmed because he was to the political right of Scrooge? He's teaching at Ave Maria.
