Oh, and to answer the earlier question, this was all over the news today and talk radios.

They showed the family on TV with an interview. The mom did the talking and the kid just sat there, tears falling from his eyes.

****ing tragic. I'd probably have been traumatized for life if some wackos strung up my dog right before my eyes when I was 10. Hell, I'd probably be traumatized for life today, when I'm 23. Those kids need to be punished, but they also need serious psychiatric help, and ought to perform thousands upon thousands of hours of community service.

Kids who kill animals are obviously not in the right frame of mind, and as yin said will likely kill again in the future. For one thing they did as a kid, they deserve to be shot? It's not murder, MtG, it's just wrongful/cruel treatment to animals. Doubt they'll spend more than a few weeks in jail for it. We had a guy here recently who hung his 5 year old step daughter from the verandah in front of his family. Beautiful little girl. He only got a few years because he was psychotic at the time.

Now that I heard the details (Before it was just a News Update thing), I'm not as mad.

It looks like the dog died when the kid was playing with it on some equipment, and to cover he said the teens hung it.
