We usually camp out on the beach. What about floating down the Guadalupe River that's always an option.

Yes David ~ I won't forget about Tia's kid she can come to if she's not into doing her teenager thing. We have an amazing fireworks show over Zilker park for forth of July and if he comes at the right time we also have free music concerts at Auditorium Shores and at Shady Grove. So you see there is quite alot to do here in Austin and Texas.

When is this taking place? The Guadalupe stays pretty chilly for a while, but hopefully this year by the time it does warm up the water won't be too low. Also, there is tons of fun stuff to do in Austin AND the surrounding area. Not as fun as it used to be, but that's progress for ya!

IIRC July would be the appointed time. By then the Guadalupe should be ok, but only if we get enough rain.

There aren't too many beating as bad as the one the Guadalupe can give your arse if it's too low. I cringe just thinking about it!

Schiliterbahn is a must, and yes, the skiing/wakeboarding on the brazos is some of the best anywhere! the water is usually a pleasant temp, and it is always smoooooooooooooth....

I think we should make a list of things to do in each town, so he can choose...Copy and paste the list, and only add too it!

Dallas/Fort Worth
Deep Ellum
Lower Greenville
Fort Worth Zoo (one of the best anywhere!)
Bass Performance Hall
Paintballing
Professional Sports game?
West End
RAZOO's

Houston
Go to Galveston
Kemah Boardwalk
Galleria Area
Dog Races?
Willie G's Seafood
Museum District

San Antonio
TOOB the Guadalupe
Riverwalk
Natural Bridge Caverns
Play in San Marcus
Tower of the Americas

Austin
6th St.
Iguana Grill
Town Lake
Barton Springs
Oasis
Yellow Rose

I don't know, I can't think of anything else at the moment. Improve the List!

EiF: Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) is a big dirty naked celebration, particularly in new orleans where girls get beads for showing their tits. There are also a few parades and things like that that no one cares about anyway, It is like Carnival. Check out the website: http://www.mardigras.com

Hella fun...But over.

If you are looking for a drive thru wildlife park, you need to stop in Glen Rose (a little bit SW of Dallas)...it's an all day event, but well worth the time. Also, you can go see dinosaur tracks and camp out in Fossil Rim State Park!

Actually Glen Rose is pretty neat - also Turner Falls in Oklahoma. We oughta try and make one of those too.

Oh, and something else in Austin - Barton Springs Pool, definitely, and if there's enough water in it, Barton Creek.

Barton Springs = Zilker Park. David should know that well that's where we had the first Texas Apolyton meet. And for you boys the girls take their tops off at Barton Springs sometimes so that should give you something to look forward to!
