I posted this poll earlier. And you had a question about it. This is many months ago and you probably don't remember. Not a big deal.
quote: Simply specify what was asked in the poll and what the results were if you want me to explain the result. |
As I've told you before I read this in a scandinavian newspaper. It was a short article and only reported the conclusion: The austrians are the proudest ppl on earth. Care to explain why you're like that? Or are you ppl a humble lot and understand nothing?

So you admit it, huh?!

I think I remember a poll that put us in the nr 1 proud-of-country spot in the EU |
That might be it. Substitute earth for EU.

Noone supasses american arrogance. See sikanders post about teenagers posting more thoughtful than me. And they were just correcting me for being harsh... Any minute now sikander will come in here and being the better poster he will post better posts than me... And so will his american friends He actually wrote that.... Proves his point about being the better poster... or perhaps not....
quote: Explaining that ? Hmmm... ever read Doderer or Bernhard ? Or Roth ? I don't really know why, but I love this country of Kakanian absurdities. Ah yes, Kafka ? |
Kakanian? I've read Kafka. Is it like Kafka where you live
quote: One reason is that while regional traditions are very old, we are quite young as a nation. Roughly 57 years. |
Regional... don't forget your heritage - Austria-Hungary which was a great power. Seems tho that the austrians were heckling the hungarian side; raids, pillages, etc.
Only 57 years, younger than the us - if youngness is the factor you guys should be more arrogant, but you're not. As I've said and like you've noticed: There's nothing like good old fashioned american arrogance. Better posters or NOT
Comparing american vs. Austrian arrogance - where does my sig fit into this, Roland

No need to say anything here... Only that your accusations seem to drop...
Yes, this is you bettering me discussing, huh? Resorting to unfounded low-level accusations? Typical american "debating" technique when you have NO arguments? |
The thread you provided a link to is a thread dealing with flood myths, including the Hebrew flood myth included in the Bible. Early Christianity can be traced back certainly no further than 2000 years. How is a post about a period over 1000 years before Christianity a post about early Christianity? I quit going to church 28 years ago, but I do remember that Noah was well before Jesus. You are awfully proud of the sort of weak reasoning that a Sunday school class could discredit instantly. If this is what you meant by my posting about early Christianity, than you are not a liar, but you are again proving that you are incapable of reading and comprehending what others post.

I've not had the chance to be brilliant in here Noone wants to discuss islam in it's historical context. Probably due to lack of knowledge and a christianity complex. |
Your apparant lack of knowledge of Christianity in it's historical context doesn't give me much confidence that there is much to learn from you about Islam. But the floor is open for you to prove my estimation wrong. I know much more about Christianity than Islam, so I'd welcome some new information.

Read the sagas that explain how we the vikings discovered your country. And killed some of you. Helge Ingstad's latest is nice to read too.
And all the icelandic sagas are brilliant IMO.. |
Well, the Vikings discovered what would eventually become part of Canada. They never managed to kill some of 'us', unless you are including my European ancestors.

And you? Not been redeemed by the blood? Sorry, but I have to warn you. It's biblical. Hell and all its horrors await. And yes in this life too. You're cursed I'm sure you know. Those who will not believe are, and that's biblical too. Yes, of course I can come up with scriptures. A lot of them. How about some lenghty theology stuff on it? |
I can't imagine how He manages to get a word in edgewise. I have been 'redeemed' by the blood, but I have renounced Christianity to follow what I consider a more moral and truer path for myself. Don't worry, I don't prosletyze, I trust others to find their own way. As for being cursed, that feeling ended as soon as I quit spending every Sunday in torment and started watching and playing football instead.

This is recorded in the bible - genesis. The start. Christ was involved in the creation - he was there from the beginning. Let US create... It's stretching it to say this is early christianity tho. But I've seen you post on early christianity - a long time ago, but could not find the thread. Maybe it was deleted or closed. Are you flat out denying that you ever wrote anything on early christianity before this thread??
Thanks for your attacks on my intelligence again. You cannot resort to arguments alone can you - they're not good enuff? Or is this the American way. You guys get this from presidential election mudslinging? Producing **** is a way of life over there. My IQ is above average, thank you.
Your accusations are getting repetitive. You're resembling the character traits of the Accuser. Do you know who that is?

BS in it's highest potency. Unfounded idiocy again, but this is standard from you. Now I really know what Comrade Tribune means by you trolling.
If you know a lot about christianity than there's not much for me to tell you is there? But you've obviously not understood the gospel or the command to repent in Acts 17. If you wanna know something just ask. P O L I T E L Y. If that word is in your dictionary, it's probably not.
Yes, I've read Josephus. And some Tacitus as well I think. This shows that your notion about me not knowing christianity at all in it's historical context is just you mudslinging again.

L'Anse Aux Meadows. It's believed that Leiv Eriksson settled here for a while.
They killed a few Indians who tried to steal from them. They called the Indians Skrælinger which is a much better word than that Italian used.

I'd be interested in seeing where in Genesis it mentions Christ being there. I wonder how the Jews could have missed that? As for me posting on early Christianity at Apolyton, I do not recall doing so before this thread, but I can't say with certainty that I haven't. I had a feeling that you were being lazy though and writing off what I had said like you've heard it all before from me (which is basically what you said). I don't doubt that any less at this point.

Hey, at least I'm not claiming that all Scandanavians are stupid / false simply because I have a disagreement with one. Take a look at the things you have said in this thread. At least my swipes at your intelligence are easily proven or disproven by the material close at hand.

Look at how you have addressed the people here, not just me. You attack them, you attack their whole country and then you want them to be polite to you? I've been at least as polite to you as you have to me.

I'm not saying that I have no Indian blood in me, in fact I do. Nevertheless your logic is faulty if you assume that someone who has Indian blood is necessarily related to one of the few Indians killed by the Vikings in Canada. My people are from the Southern U.S., and it's extremely unlikely that any of them were killed by the Vikings, even with the tendency for one's ancestors to double in number every generation.

I knew that would piss you off. You talk to your God every day, but let someone else have a spiritual experience which doesn't involve your jealous God, and suddenly that person is stuck up. If you want to be a Christian fine, some of my best friends are Christians. But you owe it to yourself to be a good Christian. You should lead by example, and not only know the meaning of humility but be able to excercize it. Good luck with all of that.

Christ is a red thread througout the bible. Remember Jesus saying to the pharisees that Moses wrote about him:
John 5:46 If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote of me.
The Jews missed Christ being the Messiah.
