It'll take David Floyd or one of the other Texans to explain who, exactly, she was, but there was a woman prominent in Texas society and politics some years ago named Ima Hogg.

When I was in graduate school, there were students in my program with the last names of Putz and Bozzo (if it's not your culture: putz is yiddish for d!ck, while Bozo was a famous American TV clown). We used to fanasize about teh two of them working together, just for the fun of citing their work out loud at conferences ("I refer here to the pioneering work of Putz and Bozzo...")

There was this French nobel-prize winner whose surname was "Perse". Well, the funny thing is that "Perse" means "Arse" in Finnish.
Same thing with Pascals and such ("Paska" = "Sh!t"). The school physics teachers must be kinda pissed off everytime they try to teach a group of 13-year-olds the pressure-system invented by the French "Pascal"... ("Paskalla [the last 'la' is often left out in spoken tongue...]" = "Having a dump")
