	How Many Racists Does It Take to Screw in a Lightbulb? Suffering from ads?

This topic has been coming up rather often, in some form or another, over the past few weeks. I think we already know who are. I just want to know how many know that they are.

Also, be sure to state your definition of racism. How do you determine what race someone is? What about mutts?

Personally, I try to no longer make distinctions about race. The basic terms of white, black, and asian are too broad. And with the ease of international travel, mixed races are so common that they cannot be defined. Frankly, there are more important traits of people to worry about that can't be linked to race. I prefer to hate people one person at a time, rather than group them up.

Racism has more to do with your upbringing than anything. I grew up in a white anglo saxon neighbourhood, I basically did not meet people who where not white anglo saxons until I was 12 and going to high school where some dirty wogs , I mean nice greeks and italians went. As I grew up and got to meet other peoples , spics , gooks, slopes, chinks , septics , chocos , boongs, etc etc etc
I realised I was more comfortable with white anglo saxons, thus making me a racist by most peoples standards.

Now I am 36 most of the white anglo saxons I use to hang with turned out to be scum but some became good friends and I have other good friends who happen to be black , yellow ,red ,green or blue skinned , have big round narrow slanty eyes, long balding hair and speak with all sorts of funny accents.

In fact, down my corridor is someone whose father's father was Asian, but all his other grandparents were white.

As a result, he has Asian appearance, but from what I remember him telling me, he is technically classed as white.

Not sure what he puts on a census though.

I went to elementary school with predominantly white Catholics. I can only remember two black students in my class. However, I don't remember any signs of racism toward them. In fact, being called a racist was a popular insult. We had no asians, but now I have tons of Chinese friends, mostly from living in China. I also have a lot of Jewish friends. I guess, in my case, living in a more uniform and tolerant environment taught me not to pay attention to race.

We're all part of the human race, aren't we? Not like those damn space aliens. Trying to take our jobs and our women.

I also grew up in a very homogenous community. But my high school is about 1/2 asian of different varieties, 1/4 white, and the last quarter indian, black, jewish, what have you. So you learn to be color-blind, otherwise you can't survive.

At my school, the white anglo saxons were in the minority...
So that by itself really discouraged racism.

Besides, people need to earn my hatred, they dont just get hated for free

Boddies: I have got confused by this before. In the US the term Asian illogically seems to only apply to people from SE Asia rather than everyone from Asia as it does here.

Yeah. To an American the only true Asians are the Japanese, Chinese and Thai. The rest are just fakes and terrorists.

I guess it's different because whilst here the majority of asians are from the Indian subcontinent and surrounding area most asians in the US are from SE asia.

Doesn't really make any difference, I just have to try and remember where the poster is from to work out exactly what they mean.

I believe race to be one of the many identities we humans endow ourselves with. Turning a blind eye to racial inequality in the name of freedom is almost as racist to my eye as actually suppressing the weaker racial groups in a society.

I am not racist, but I do believe that different races have different traits and abilities.

I take it we are going by the dictionary definition of racism?

I dont assume, I believe what I believe because of the research I have done and because of my life experiences. Racists just hate others because they look different.
Some people on this forum have accused me of being racist but I dont have a problem interacting with other races. My friends are a pretty diverse bunch. If I was hateful or intolerant of other races I wouldnt be living in New York City would I?

You have to ask yourself "why are those races weaker?". You cant force "equality" upon races that are inherently unequal without changing their genetic makeup. We are all equal before God, but our mortal bodies are far from equal.

Actually, that would be a sterotype. Sterotyping racial groups wouldn't make him a racist, just undereducated.

I didnt stereotype racial groups, I made generalizations.

No race has the monopoly on geniuses or idiots.
